Maybe you should talk to the staff here! 2/27/2009

I did talk to the staff, and found out the answer to the whole "parking lot" fiasco. 1, if you can't tell by the shape of the building, it used to be a bowling alley. The parking lot was there before it was a BN, so that is not really their fault. 2, The reason they have to have validated parking is because lots of the people who work in the nearby office buildings like to park in their lot to avoid having to pay their own parking garage fees. Again, not the BN peoples fault. But I mean, I have shopped there a million times, and really, how hard is it to remember to bring in a little piece of paper to get stamped? They will stamp it for as long as you have been there, so its not really a big deal. Pros: Great Staff, Great Selection! Cons: overpriced new release cds and dvds. more

You'd be better off walking there... 1/18/2008

Be aware that parking is validated and it seems like you can only get 1 hour validated at Starbucks and 2 at Barnes and Noble. I spent an hour and a half at Starbucks, and little did I know it was a maximum of one hour until the parking attendant charged me 5 dollars upon my exit. When I asked if I could go back and get another hour validated, he simply told me I couldn't and pointed to a poorly marked sign that one wouldn't be able to see until you were at the gate exit. Cons: Validated parking, rude parking attendants, poorly marked signs more

Beware of the Music Department! 2/16/2007

I recently purchased a cd box set for my husband for Valentines day. He was really excited and opened it to find 4 random gospel cds instead of the correct artist. When I brought it back to the store the next day (the day after it was purchased), I was told that it was impossible for this to happen. Not only were the Barnes and Noble employees unhelpful, but they treated me as though I were trying to steal. While I am sure this is an isolated incident that they do not see often, I would expect more respect and helpfulness. more

Excellent 4/25/2005

I love the Bellevue Barnes and Noble because they just don't have books, but CD's as well. And a very good selection of CD's I might add. There might be even more books at this store as its fairly large. more

A nice space to read and eat 4/9/2005

Barnes & Noble is one of the better chain book stores. This location in particular is a very pleasant space to sit and read or get a snack at the attached Starbucks. more

Parking Nightmare 2/9/2003

If you can get into this B&N, then you'll have a reasonably decent time browsing their selection. However, you will first have to navigate through traffic to get to the gate that blocks the parking lot. Then, once through the gate, you get to drive through one of the most poorly planned parking lots in the area. Once in the store, you'll find the regular big bookstore selection, but I was very disappointed in their music section and shocked that they have almost no DVDs. In the end, I'll be shopping at the new Borders in Bellevue Square--it's three stories tall with a huge DVD and music section. Plus, parking is always available in the garage that it's attached to. Pros: Interior design, Great ceiling, Warm feeling Cons: Parking, poor music selection, no real DVD selection more

validated parking? So lame. 1/14/2003

If you plan on spending a while browsing books and magazine head to the Crossroads Barnes and Noble. While they don't have the music section there, they do have hassle free parking. The whole idea of parking validation for a bookstore, Good guys, starbucks and movie theater was a very poor decision on their part. With plenty of parking in front for the stores there and underground near the back it's easy to see that $$$ was on their minds. When you do spend an hour shopping and have validation, the attendents are rude. Downtown Bellevue will soon be like downtown Seattle. Pros: Music selection, Starbucks in-store Cons: Validated parking, rude prkng attendents more
