Barnes and Noble is a decent store for new, mainstream releases. New books are often arranged in a way that alerts passerby to what America may now be or may soon be buzzing about. New books are often priced cheaply enough to be encouraging, and their members program, which saves the cardholder 10 per cent off every purchase, really adds up if youre a frequent visitor. Their music and movie department isnt that great, considering the dearth of selection and the higher-than-Best-Buy-which-is-right-across-the-street prices. For the most part, the people who work there are helpful, but a few of them just strike me as bitter, unhappy people who I wouldnt want to approach to ask where even the new Harry Potter book is.
