I wanted some group insurance for my company. This broker promised me great deals, etc. Sure, he knew what would fit in my price range, but he gave me an OLD booklet and stated that was up to date, 2008 insurance booklet. There were no doctor names, just generic info on coverage, no specifics. He didn't bother to tell me that a lab or pathology check would not be paid for unless I used Labcorp which is a horrible lab.
He also stated just recently that my policy has not changed in any way. According to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of GA it has. The cost for a walk in clinic copay has gone up to $60. He's wrong. My new 2009 booklet has other changes that my insurance broker is unaware of so what am I paying commish to him for?
This is a warning to all GA residents. I don't think salesman should be selling health insurance in the first place because they know NOTHING about medical terminology, etc. These people get paid commission out of your hard earned money every month. Be informed and ask a lot of questions because they like to say less. I asked why I was not informed about having to use Labcorp under my plan and the answer was: ""you didn't ask."" What am I paying him commish for?
He's a hard sell, fast and quick and wants his money. Stay away.
Pros: Answers every phone call, but is not well informed.
Cons: Sells without disclosing everything you need to know.
