new faces at barlow trail vet 1/11/2013

This was my first experience with Barlow trail and I was very pleased. They're prices were very reasonable and the staff was friendly. I'm not sure if the vet that everyone online seems to be bashing still works there, but I was very pleased to see that Dr Houston works there now. She was several of my other dogs vet, when she worked in Gresham. Dr Houston is wonderful with little dogs. I will never go anywhere else. more

Dr. Death (Christenson, DVM) 1/19/2012

He tortured and killed my otherwise healthy dog while charging me well over $1,000.00 for tests. I hope Dr. Death receives the same treatment he has subjected animals to death whether he is alive or dead. more

Beware 7/16/2011

I took my beautiful, healthy, full of life golden retreiver puppy, to Barlow Trail Vet Clinic to be spayed and now she is dead. I have had conflicting reports of what happened. I am waiting on the medical records, so that they can be reviewed by another vet. I do not trust these people. Do not take your pet to these people. more

Injured cat 11/10/2010

While in the waiting room of the Barlow Trail Vet Clinic, I observed an older distraught man come in carrying his cat which had an injured eye. He only had $25 dollars for treatment so the staff turned him away and pointed to the door. They displayed no interest in the injured animal. Their decision was obviously based in the clinic's protocol. No money, no interest in the animal. I am looking for a vet who actually cares about the welfare of animals. more

WATCH OUT!! 7/10/2010

I too took my sick pet to Barlow Trail. Hundreds upon hundreds of $ of tests and days later there was no diagnoses or treatment and my pet was still sick. I took him to a veterinarian recommended by a coworker. The vet was in a different city and a long trip, but he was immediately diagnosed and treated. He is fine now no thanks to Christenson DVM at the Barlow Trail. Had I not taken him to another veterinarian, I am sure he would be dead now. It is more than worth the long drive knowing that my little guy is well cared for and healthy. more

Love your pet? Beware! 6/4/2010

My dog was in sudden and extreme pain. Took him to the Barlow Trail Veterinary Clinic immediately. X-ray and tests were done. I was told to return the next day for more tests. Total was approximately $1,300. X-rays showed a total bowel obstruction. No treatment or surgery was provided. The dog had been in extreme pain for two days. Pain relief medication was not provided.. I was told to return the next day for more tests. The vet said the dog was sick and old (9 years and excellent health) and needed to be euthanized. The dog was euthanized. Obviously, I should never have taken my best friend to the Barlow Trail Veterinary Clinic. If you love your pet and place any value on your money, go elsewhere for veterinary care. more

This office is all about the MONEY!!! Beware...animal lovers. 7/9/2009

I also thought that Barlow Trail was a great place till my cat had a "Serious" issue. I trusted that they had the best interest at heart for my cat but boy was I wrong, after paying almost 700 for test's and supervision they still could not tell me what was wrong with my cat. To top that off, I had to return the next day for a follow-up visit per the dr's request and they had enough $$$ in their eyes to charge me for ANOTHER visit. I do NOT believe that they are in business for the "concern/care" of anyones pets but that they are in it for all the money. I would not recommend or suggest this office to anyone who "LOVES" their pets. After I paid the second office visit, they informed me that I needed to be referred to a completely different doctor. Obviously they had charged me all they could suck out of me before they said "Sorry, nothing more we can do for you and we are not really sure whats wrong with your cat, so here go to this doctor and they can help you" I was so upset and concerned for my cat that they could see it in my eyes,so they "Socked" it to me right in the wallet. The worst part is I am still at the point of not knowing whats wrong with him, even after I paid over 700.00 to what I thought was a trust worthy vet. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND POSSIBLY LOOSE YOUR PET! more
