This bar is so overated. Years ago this was a great bar with wonderful food. Now this bar is overpriced and so is the food. It is a swimming hole.

Great pub food and enviornment! We are having our holiday party here and I am looking forward to going back. Always decorated nicely for the holidays. If in the area give it a try! more

Great Beer, Good Service and Nice Steak and Cheese! 10/28/2008

Went for the Free tour and beer tasting at 12:30. Short informative tour and was impressed with a few of their handcrafted brews. Particularly liked the Rescue IPA and the Oktoberfest was very good as well. Stayed for lunch and the menu had what I wanted. Steak and Cheese (not a Philly Cheese Steak) Steak tips and I went with Cheddar and crumbled blue cheese...special order, but not a problem.....wow. Service was top notch and a bit more attractive than the norm. Did not have room for dessert but had a thing called a Brewkettle Crumble....basically a Sundae in a pint glass, which does not really go well with beer, but it does go well with coffee and Bailey's! Pros: They, the staff, seem to enjoy working there. Cons: Front door should be in the front not the side more

Great food, fun atmosphere 8/20/2008

My family stopped here for lunch & had a great meal. The service was good, the burgers & reubens were excellent. althoug it was quiet for lunch, we could tell that this place would be hopping at night. We'd definitely return here when we are in the Poconos. more

  • When the cornerstone for Barley Creek Brewing Company was laid in 1792, it marked the start of what would become one of the most historic buildings in America. The building would eventally grow to include 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, 28 fireplaces, a tennis court, swimming pool, movie theatre and bowling alley. Oh, wait… that’s the White House. Hey, we’re sure the White House is a nice place and all, but we’re just saying… we’d rather be at Barley Creek. Okay, here’s the official history… On December 15, 1995, Eileen and Trip Ruvane opened Barley Creek Brewing Company, the first microbrewery in the Pocono Mountains since Prohibition.
