I found the owner of Bark Park to be extremely rude! If she is abrupt and unprofessional with people, I can't imagine how she treats the dogs when the owners aren't there. As a rule, I refuse to pay a penny to rude business people! more

We have three dogs at the Bark Park two times a week. My dogs cannot wait until their doggie daycare days. They are so happy and healthy. Nicky runs a GREAT business, my dogs LOVE her and her staff, I cannot say enough good things about their structure, cleanliness, attention to detail. I have three very happy customers! more

good people makes for healthy happy dogs 8/5/2009

I feel I can say something here as a neutral party. I am on the website b/c I drove by there today and was interested in sending my two dogs there, so I looked it up online. I haven't yet used these services, but I used to work at a similar place in Texas, doggie daycare with overnite services for clients of daycare. I just wanted to say our policies were exactly the same, for the benefit of the dogs. In a dog daycare, people don't understand what goes on- an owner has to be responsible for everyone's dog's and stressed out dogs, upset everyone (four legs and two). Dogs that are unfamliar with a daycare environment, who must then also stay overnite are stressed dogs. more

We ALL love the Bark Park 7/1/2009

I just stumbled across the other review and wanted to give the opinion of a Bark Park client. Actually, my dog Kelsey is the client, but since she does not have access to email... Kelsey has been visiting the Bark Park once a week ever since we adopted her more than a year ago. We were very pleased with the care and attention Nicky took in assessing Kelsey's temperament for the day care environment. Kelsey knows when it is 'day care day,' and she bounces around the house with anticipation as if to say 'hurry up, my friends are waiting and I'm missing playtime!.' She is greeted by name, and her birthday is acknowledged with a small gift and a picture on the bulletin board in the entry. We have boarded her there as well, and I've never had concerns - which was not always the case when we boarded our former dogs, prior to the establishment of the Bark Park, at different kennels. The Bark Park exists for the purpose, pleasure and well being of the dogs, not for the convenience of the dog's 'people.' We have recommended the Bark Park to many friends and will continue to rave about their services. Pros: Focused on the needs of the dogs Cons: None! more

Dogs LOVE it here! 9/3/2008

My name is Nicky Mowrer and I'm the owner of The Bark Park. I'm sorry that you felt that you had a bad experience at my facility, but from what you've written, I'm very happy to say that my employees are following all the guidelines I've established here!!! Yes, we only will board dogs that attend daycare. We only offer boarding as an extra service for our established daycare clients! We require all dogs that want to board, to attend daycare at least 3-5 times before they stay overnight for camp. We do this because we are NOT a kennel in any sense of the word and because we have a completely different setup. No kennels, just open play all day long. We want all dogs to be comfortable here before they stay overnight and from my experience this takes anywhere from 3-5 visits. The more comfortable the dog, the less stressed they are when they board. I want every dog to have a great time while they're here, whether they are boarding or just here for daycare, so I established this guideline to ensure that this occurs. I'm sorry we couldn't accomdate you on such short notice, but the rules I've established are in the best interest of any dog that comes walking through our door! Again, I apologize, but now maybe you will understand why we wouldn't just board your dog or any dog for that matter the day you walked in. more

Bark Park is too good for you 5/5/2008

I had heard from another dog owner who stopped buy there that they were not very nice, the only reason I called was because they are close and I wanted to see for myself. I had a dog sitter back out on me, they were the first place I called. Today is Tuesday and it's like 7:45am, I am leaving next Friday for the weekend, on my only vacation for the year. I had all the paperwork filled out and ready to send via e-mail to the Dog Park, they said that they only review applications on Thursday and that my dog would need to be daycared 3 days before letting him stay there, I don' t know what was wrong with him being there on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday? They said it wasn't enough time, when really there are 4 days between the time I leave for vacation. So, number one, they won't cater to anyone's schedule or needs no matter what, and secondly don't ever stop by unexpected with your dog to check things out...you'll get yelled at and will be humiliated. I really think they should add that to there website in large letters. Pros: close to home Cons: not very friendly people more
