Last year as we were ending our stay at the lakehouse, my in-laws were preparing to come up and visit with us during our last night or two. The lakehouse being too small to accomodate the six of us along with the three people who travelled with my in-laws, we decided to stay at this hotel.
I went in not expecting much from this place, because it doesn't look too fancy. It's actually closer to North Webster than to Warsaw proper, being right by Little Barbee, and I figured "a small town hotel -- meh" but I was so surprised!
We stayed in one of the two top-floor suites and these rooms were really decked out with luxury, but a homey type of luxury--heavy, ornate wooden furniture, glass table in the kitchen, a leather recliner and sofa in the living room. The door opened with an old-fashioned key. That was so refreshing to me for some reason. I could not remember the last time I had a room that used a real key.
Even though we arrived late, the bar and grill was happy to accomodate our request for drinks and food. We did not get a chance to enjoy the sauna and hot tub facilities, but we hope to on our next stay.
If you don't have a lakehouse and can't excuse the rates to rent some of the vacation homes, this is a great opportunity to be right across the street from the lake and the covered bridges.
