We have rented a long term vacation rental for one year through Barbara Mclain Properties, and I being dealing with Linda Ahn from day one, she has being very helpful with us for our entire stay. We are very happy and will come back in the near future. more

We have rented vacation rental homes on a longer term (4 mos) basis for the last 2 years through Barbara McLain Properties. Linda Ahn is the rep that helps us and she has consistently represented the company with great enthusiasm. We have many criteria for Linda to contend with, including a 70lb dog and privacy and space needs, and proximity to the beach within our price range. Linda has done a fantastic job for us each year. She is quick to respond to any questions we might have both before and after we arrive. And is happy to work with us via phone or email depending on our needs at any given time. We make arrangements with her from out of state and Linda takes over making our transition here easy. We appreciate her immensely. And we like that the office is conveniently located. Linda Ahn is a serious asset to Barbara McLain Properties. more

As an owner, I have used Barbara McLain Properties for several years. I have been very pleased with their service. Not only are they very professional, but they always try to add a personal touch such as sending a yearly Chrismas card with a signature from the whole staff. If something needs to be fixed, they get right on it. I would recommend them to owners and renters alike. more

I have rented a summer vacation rental from Barbara McLain Properties for the past 3 years. Linda Ahn is my rental agent. Linda has been incredible! She is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely supportive. When I was looking for my first rental near the Del Mar race track, through VRBO, I found a rental that looked to be perfect. When I emailed my interest, I was contacted by Linda Ahn. She told me that the owners had the rental listed on VRBO but were using McClain properties to try to sell it. Just my luck, it had been sold and was no longer available. I was truly disappointed but then Linda offered to look around for other properties for me. She found 6 other properties from Encinitas to Del Mar for me to check out. The one that I fell in love with was too expensive. I told Linda thanks for her help but the only one that would work was out of my price range. She asked me what I hoped to pay, called the owner and called me back to say the owner agreed to the price that I wanted to pay! I cannot tell you how thrilled I was and AM! My husband and I have been able to rent this location for 3 years in a row and hope to continue to do so. more

We have rented a summer rentals from Barbara McLain Properties for over 10 years. They have always been so pleasant to work with. We have rented a couple different homes from them until we found the rental we have been in the last 5 years that we love so much! They are always extremely accommodating and when a maintenance problem ever arises they do their best to get it taken care of right away. Unlike the previous comment below I understand that as a property manager's these poor people are merely stuck in the middle trying to keep everyone happy to the best of their ability and some folks no matter what you do are just impossible to make happy. However, they have always been a great company to work with and I will continue to use them as long as I am able to make it to California for my summer vacations. more

We used Barbara McLain Properties to book our family Holiday, and reserved a property in *July* for the week of Christmas. We spent thousands of dollars on airfare, arranged our first Christmas together in 10 years with my ailing parents, only to be told a few weeks before the Holiday that "the owners decided to pull the property, and sorry, not our fault". They took zero responsibility and have not been helpful in the least. It has been obvious they could care less that my family has been left with no place to stay - DO NOT USE and if you must, REVIEW THE FINE PRINT. We are devastated, have no property to come to, and arrive in a few weeks. Some Holiday, and some company. We are doing our best to warn as many potential customers as possible. more
