Great folks always pleasant!! Open for lunch only!! No matter what you pick you can't go wrong. Sauce is good not overpowering,there is always more in the kettle in back dining area. Thursday is rib day don't miss that. BBQ bologna is a treat. Beef, pork, sausage and turkey are incredible. Best potato salad anywhere. Jalapeno beans are terrific. Cornbread or sweetbread are a meal in themselves. Don't forget the peach cobbler with just the right touch of cinnamon . I've been going there for 26 years and have NEVER been disapointed with ANYTHING. Pros: Food Cons: only open for lunch more

SPICY!! This place will be sure to blow a hole in your socks! WoWZers I ordered the spicy bbq chicken wings and JESUS H CHRIST!!! I started sweating even before the plate arrived. Not to mentions Delicious! Yes sir, this place is a good time for the spice! more

Nice People....But U Can't Eat Nice! 5/27/2005

Being a native West Tennesseean, I know what good BBQ tastes like. Needless to say this is not it. This was average food at best. Now I know why the people there are so nice..TO MAKE UP FOR THE FOOD!!! The shoulder was tastless. As a matter of fact, everything was tasteless. How do u mess up Mac and cheese?? I tasted more Mac than I did cheese. I opted for cornbread instead of toast. Mistake!!! It was more like a burnt pancake. I will end on a good note though. The people were nice and service was fast. But thats about it. more

Add some kick to your tastebuds! 4/20/2004

After having lunch at Tex's and attending a private function there, I would recommend this to anyone who loves barbecue and good hospitality. The new owners have cleaned up the place making it more family friendly. The menu is the same but the flavor and tenderness of the smoked meat is improved. The jalepeno beans are worth trying and the addition of texas toast and corn light bread is great. They have a good assortment of hot sauces available too. If you walk out of here without the good taste from smoked meat in your mouth, then you need to have your senses checked. Just entering the place you can smell the fragrance from the smokers on the premises. Pros: smoked sausage, brisket & ribs, family friendly more

Tex's BBQ is worth the trip 2/17/2004

I love this place! The smoked meat is great....I lived in Austin for two years...ate alot of Beef brisket....Tex's is top shelf. Also...I really like their sausage because it is a little crispy. They need to buy an air filter or ban smoking....it can be rough in their for non-smokers some days. Pros: Beef brisket, Sausage Cons: Smoking more

Sure, the food's cheap, but for a good reason. The brisket we had was dry and just plain unappetizing. Nothing about the place was memorable. I don't believe it was worth going out of my way for. If that's what Texas brisket is like, I don't ever wanna go to Texas. Pros: cheap Cons: brisket more
