I grew up in New Orleans and love New Orleans nightlife. Banks Street Bar is one of the few places I'd never been. My boyfriend and I had just moved in the neighborhood on Murat St. We walked over to Banks St on a weekday afternoon. And I don't really know what it exactly was, but we just felt REALLY unwelcome. The bartender was rude, the bar patrons were rude. They only had 4 customers, but we waited 10min. for a beer. I didn't even feel like staying for one drink. When we were walking out the door, some old guys at the bar screamed ""au revoir!"". In 35 years in New Orleans, 15 years in the service industry, and countless parties, live music, bars, and restaurants, I've never felt that my business was so unwanted. I'll never go back.
