Excellent curries 10/2/2006

The curries at Bangkok Thai are fabulous. They are better than at Siam. I was born in the Caribbean, so I know about coconut based sauces...this chef knows how to blend spices! If you like it hot, make sure you know how hot, because a level-3-spice could have you in tears. Bangkok TR has a great variety of dishes for vegetarians too. My friends from India praise it. The Pho is pretty good too, but stay away from the meatballs..they add a lot of grease to the broth and kills the charm. I wish the atmosphere was nicer, but then the prices wouldn't be as great, would they? more

The best Thai soups! 4/17/2006

I love Thai soup with coconut milk. We go here and order family style and I have more than my share of soup and let others enjoy my share of the curry. The downside is that you get a strip mall atmosphere, but the prices are excellent and the service is good and the food is excellent. It's one of our favorite places. more

Best Thai IN Boise 3/27/2006

This is without a doubt the best Thai restaurant in Boise. The atmosphere is casual and the people their are extremely friendly. I believe it is primarily a family-run restaurant. The menu is filled with all the staples (pad thai noodles, a variety of curries) but also has some dishes I haven't seen elsewhere such as the papaya salad with Thai beef jerky and sticky rice. There are a variety of heat levels to choose from and you can always add more using their spice tray. Also, you can cut the heat sipping a Thai iced tea or coconut drink. I always have a good experience at this place and have been known to go their 2-3 times a month with my husband. more
