Best

Good Friends turned me on to Bangkok......I must say I resisted driving all the way from Nashville to the Boro. Boy was I an idiot. It is by far the best Thai in TN and nothing ...

Worst

Moving from Chicago, I have been eating Thai food for 20+years and we had really good authentic food. This place is not vegan friendly, also the vegetarian section has Tom Yum soup...

We tried to eat there tonight. The a/c doesn't work, and we waited ten mins w/out a server ever coming around. Thirsty, we left. more

Not so great. 3/8/2012

Moving from Chicago, I have been eating Thai food for 20+years and we had really good authentic food. This place is not vegan friendly, also the vegetarian section has Tom Yum soup but has fish sauce in it.(should not be on there then) just not the real deal. more

Adequate but not great 1/8/2010

I was very excited when I saw that M'boro got a Thai restaurant. But was disappointed once my husband and I ate there. It was ok but not great Thai. I'd rather drive into Nashville if I want some Thai food. Pros: Thai in M'boro Cons: Just not that good more

Fabulous Food and Service 1/20/2008

Good Friends turned me on to Bangkok......I must say I resisted driving all the way from Nashville to the Boro. Boy was I an idiot. It is by far the best Thai in TN and nothing disappoints. On several return trips I have managed to experience many many items. The satay is mouthwatering, the soups outrageous, the fried tofu quite yummy and I haven't even gotten to the entrees. The mussaman beef curry well worth a try. The Chicken Pad Thai moist and flavorful. I have tried three different shrimp dishes that were very different and tasty. Nothing disappoints. The coconut ice cream is the perfect way to end a meal so be sure not to miss it. Don't hesitate at all to make the drive it is well worth the time and gas....trust me. Pros: food quality and variety more

Great Thai Food 8/11/2007

Best Thai restaurant in town. Food is fresh, properly prepared and promtly served. This is THAI food, not Chinese-there is a difference. The owners are great people, even if the servers might be a bit flighty. Great food for a reasonable price. You leave feeling respected and full. Pros: Lunch is fast and reasonably priced. more

It's o.k. 11/7/2006

The food is alright and it's not too busy, so seating isn't a problem. If you in the mood for Thai and don't feel like driving to Nashville it's not a bad thought to eat here. Pros: seating isn't a problem more

Outstanding Thai, Exquisite Decor! 10/19/2006

When I moved here, didn't expect much in the name of Thai/Asian food which my wife and I absolutely love. Was pleasantly surprised when we went to this restaurant (based on a friend's recommendation). First of all the decor of the restaurant is stunning (beautiful hardwood floors, wall hangings, etc). And the food was amazingly prepared. I had the fried squid entree and have to say it was the best preparation of squid I have ever eaten (squid is difficult to prepare, overcook and it becomes rubbery). Their soups, although slightly high in price (mid $5 range) were also heaven. We have eaten there several times since and still they maintain the quality of food. Recommend the chicken satay as an appetizer and for dessert, they have coconut icecream in a shelled out coconut that is a wonderful way to cap off the experience. We've eaten at many Thai restaurants all over the country and this is easily in the top 3 if not the very top Thai restaurant I've eaten at. Service is very friendly as well. Enjoy. Pros: beautiful decor, excellent quality and taste of food, attentive service Cons: can run up an expensive meal if not too careful more

good thai food 6/25/2006

Our first time there since it reopened and found the food still good but the decor even better. The portions could be a bigger for the price but the service was good and mama-san Pros: food Cons: small portions more

Finally reopened 6/22/2006

Ate there for the first time since they reopened. Very nice atmosphere. Food was outstanding and affordable. Portions were just right for me but probably not big enough if I was very hungry. I would suggest an appetizer or dessert to make it just right. They have a big menu with lots of choices. Wife and I had a great meal with a total ticket of $25. What a bargain! Pros: Atmosphere, food, service Cons: portion size more

Thai heaven!! 6/19/2003

The Bangkok has moved to a beautiful new location at 225 W. College. If you haven't tried the food here you're really missing out. Each dish is prepared fresh, as ordered by the owner/chef who is a culinary master --spring rolls, thai soups, and vegetarian curry dishes are my personal favorites. Try it-- you'll have no regrets! more
