Of every Thai place I've eaten in Metro Detroit, I always come back to Bangkok Sala. I've probably eaten there 100 times. Best thing is they give you a lot of food for the price, the Bad thing is they get very busy at Lunch, as its just a small joint. I wish they could somehow expand. Even if you have to wait, the Food is worth it. The eggdrop soup is not bad, but they give you just a small cup, pay a little extra for a large bowl, it tastes great with spring rolls. My favorite is to get the Basil Fried Rice (i am not sure of the exact name) and then I get a side of Brown Sauce. The Sauce is the secret to their flavor, in my opinion. I don't know what they put in it, but its a perfect blend. BE CAREFUL if you are ALLERGIC to SHRIMP like me. They have these Chips that they serve when you first sit down and they are Shrimp Flavored and made with some sort of Shrimp Oil... I ate one by mistake once. Good thing I had my benadryl. They also have great Tea. It is some of the best Thai Hot Tea I've had. Not sure of the kind but its mildly sweet with a hint of Lime.
Pros: Great food value for the price, plenty of mild to hot & spice dishes.
Cons: Very Busy at Lunch & Dinner. Sometimes only One server.
