Editorial review from Citysearch 7/2/2012

No offense, Im sorry for your dog. But there is no way that putting a tube down her throat caused her to not be able to breath. She probably couldn't breath through her nose well because of her short snout, which probably caused a blockage in her nasal cavity somewhere, Putting a tube down there throat can only help breathing because it allows more air into their lungs. sounds like they did the right thing. Banfield isn't the best vet in town, but they are competent, they are definitely the best option if your are on a budget and cant afford a 200 or 300 dollar bill every time you go to the vet. more

Amazing!!! 1/13/2012

Our second cat was a rescue and when we found him on the side of the road, we noticed a large gash in his stomach and immediately took him to a local animal hospital who told us the bill would be $1800 and that he would need stitches. When we took him to Banfield, everyone was wonderful! The bill was about $80 and he did not need stitches. He is now a happy, healthy cat. When we took our dog a few days ago, we were very concerned as he was very, very sick. After a few hours during which we were able to leave our dog and get some food for ourselves (a welcome break after being up for over 24 hours with a sick pup) we were told he had giardia. They had him up and feeling better in no time. The front desk people were rude this time, but everyone else was great and we were so thankful!!! more

An productive visit with a competent staff 12/12/2011

I took my 8 year old mixed breed dog to Banfield for a fairly routine situation. The dog was itching like crazy, and despite flea/tick treatments and regular therapeutic baths did not help. They performed some testing and diagnostics and provided the necessary treatment to put him back on the road to a quick recovery. I was impressed with the friendly, competent and caring staff. I have decided to use them as my vet of record and will go back for vaccinations, dental cleaning and anything else necessary for my dog's well being. more

Best Vet Around!! 1/6/2011

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! This Banfield is the greatest. All of their staff are awesome. We have a Westipoo that got very sick. She was vomitting, had diarrhea and was very lethargic. They ran numerous tests to find out what was going on, always telling us about the cost and making sure we were aware of everything going on. Our dog was dehydrated when I brought her in and since she was unable to keep anything down, she had to go in every day for a week to recieve IV fluids. We got at least 2 calls everyday telling us how she was doing while she was there. The vet tech Kerri is the best. Whenever she had some down time or was doing paper work, she would take my sweet girl out of her kennel and hold her. She really helped to make this tramatic ordeal pleaseant for my dog. To this day, Kerri gets so excited when she see's our Westipoo and loves our new yorkie. A few weeks ago, I noticed this big lump on my Yorkie's shoulder. We got to Banfield at 7:30 and they took us right back. They took a sample and looked at it under the microscope and it turned out that my baby had an infection. They gave us a prescription for an antiobiotic and told us to take it to Publix because it would be free. When we got to Publix, the pharmacist said it wasn't available in the form it was written and that the vet needed to change it to a liquid (I work in a pharmacy and the pharmacist has the authority to change if from a pill to a liquid if the patient is ok with that) Anyways, we had to drive back to Banfied to get it changed. Luckily, the vet was talking with a coworker in the parking lot and she was more that happy to help us. She even waited around 10 minutes while we looked for a pen. I love this Banfield and I recommended it to everyone that I know. We've been coming her since they opened and we will never go anywhere else. They don't just make sure that my dog is healthy, that also make her happy. My dogs don't even mind going to the vet because they know that once they get there, they will see people they know and that love them just as much as we do!\r more

Bulldog killers 6/26/2010

Banfield in Charleston, SC murdered my 9 month old english bulldog... we trusted them with her life when she had a heat stroke early this week and they injected her with various antibiotics (at doses you would give an adult horse) and even injections that are not approved for animals by the fda... they also injected her with drugs not suited for dogs under 1 year for possible liver and kidney failure which she ended up having and she died from lack of oxygen after 3 days in their care! The first night they even left her in a cage alone and listed it as hospitalization observation on the bill... how do you observe an animal when no one is there? she ended up having an anxiety attack putting more stress on her lungs and heart. more

Banfield in Charleston, SC 6/25/2010

Worst service ever! I spent over $1,000 at this vet and trusted them with my bulldog when she had a heat stroke and they prolonged her agony by administering the wrong medications and never gave her oxygen. She was only 9 months old and they gave her drugs at levels you would give an adult horse! Then they cold heartedly ask so when can you pay the bill? I am apalled at the inhumane workers there! I do not recommend this vet at all! Cons: uneducated and inexperienced money hungry! more

Banfield The Pet Hospital is NOT CAT EXPERIENCED 10/3/2009

I took my Yorki and the female vet was great. I took my cat and the male vet Harry Smith who I did not care for. They took my cat from me to the back room with barking dogs and he got away, mind you they could have done the test (skin scraping) with the cat calmly in my arms but in the back my cat was terrified and got away but they did not tell me so I could get him they caught him somehow and put him in a metal cage then had me come to the back to calm him down.Needless to say my cat bit down on my hand so I did not move it until he calmed down and was not even offed a tissue on bandaid for my bite.My cat is a very sweet boy and knew he was safe in my arms but now I tell the vet do it MY WAY because I AM PAYING more

contributed to my dogs death 5/8/2009

We brought our dog in for an ear infection, she would always get excited and hot she was a bulldog. They began to panic and without asking us said she was over heating and they put a tube in her throat to remove the flem... this causing her unable to breath bc she did not breath through her nose well and went into rep.arrest and dies she was 4 yrs old. Pros: worst Cons: lack of knowledge more
