MISDIAGNOSED 10/21/2008

I took my 11 wk Dalmatian puppy in to Banfield b/c she had a small lump on her neck that seemed to be tender when touched. The attending vet looked at her & immediately told us it was cancer & said that it needs to be surgically removed IMMEDIATELY or that my puppies life was in danger. For some reason, in the back of my mind I did not believe the lump was cancerous at all. I had to ASK THE VET for an anti-inflammatory to try to bring down the swelling. The veterinarian was very rude and condescending when I would ask her questions about my puppies' health. She gave us a weeks' worth of anti-inflammatory & an antibiotic & we scheduled the appt for surgery, b/c we didn't know what else to do. During the course of the next week, the bump started to get smaller, so we decided to take Kali to another vet to get a second opinion. This vet was EXTREMELY thorough & even withdrew fluid from the bump & sent it to the lab to be tested, a procedure that the vet at Banfield told me was not possib more

I refuse to take my cat to any Banfield ever again. I went in to have my cat treated for a urinary tract infection and they wanted to test him for everything. After several unnecessary tests and $300 later, they discovered that my cat had a urinary tract infection (which is what I told them he had in the beginning). I can't spend $300 every time I go to a Vet. more

I have been taking my little Boston Terrier to this Banfield since I got him at 10 wks. He is now 1 1/2. They always treated him well and took care of him. I remember one time in March, we had to rush our puppy over because he had an allergic reaction and his face blew up! They took him back right away and got meds into him. He was fine after a few hours. We are on one of the plans so we never had to pay a lot of money. I have no complaints here. more

Banfield killed my cat. 9/3/2007

This was nearly two years ago, so I feel I'm being objective. My cat stopped eating and so we rushed her to Banfield where they diagnosed her with diabetes. Banfield transferred her to an emergency clinic to get her stable. We followed up with Banfield who taught us how to inject her with insulin and about her diet, etc. We were told that we were overfeeding her and needed to drastically scale back the food we gave her in order to both manage her weight and her diabetes.\r \r On doctor's orders we limited our cat's diet to the prescribed amount. Our cat was starving. She did things she never did before, like jump on the counters and try to eat food off our plates. In tears, my wife took her back and said she was always hungry, shouldn't we feed her more. They weighed her and said we were doing everything right that it'd take some getting used to. Maybe we should feed her just a quarter of a can more a day.\r \r We did that, continued to give her her insulin shots. But she stayed hungry, an more
