Unfortunately I have to say that Banfield is not all that friendly. Sure when things are going good with your furry child it is fine & dandy. Your not allowed in with your pet before or, after surgery. For me this is very important. My husband had been taking my (our) dog! I was the legal owner & they did know that I was also a care giver to my 3 girls. Very sadly my 13 year old Angel had a heart problem that was being taken care of with medication provided my Banfield (Dr. Chadm). She had been there just 3 months prior & she was doing great. On August 2, 2013 my husband took her in to Banfield (I was at home sleeping after staying up with her for several nights) & Angel's exam showed she was very sick. He was in shock & I had no idea this was going on that horrible day. Dr. Chadam told my husband she could not be saved & could not go home!! She didn't consider that I would be completely devastated & I didn't have the chance to say Goodbye to my beloved Angel. To me that is not a person or, precessional thinking of our family when clearly my husband was not thinking clearly. I called there office after hearing the news & wanted to know exactly what happened. Dr. Chadam had already left for the day & no one would tell me when she would be back into the office. The girl at the front desk who answered the phone was so very rude & I had to get very firm with her even to get another doctor to tell me what had happened. He told me Angel had Anorexia & it was recommend that she be put to sleep. I said they had no right to that without my permission & he told me that under FL law my husband was her owner & I was not. This was the cruelest thing to say to a person who loved & cared for their pet I have ever experienced in my life. I was told I could have a viewing of my already deceased pet. A lot of good that does. I was still very confused & proceeded to call Banfield next morning; wanting to talk to Dr. Chadam. They still wouldn't tell me when she would be in or, anything else & gave me their corporate phone number. Of course they were not open on the weekend & I called back. Now I was not only heartbroken but, very upset & wanted to talk to other vet. The young girl was rude & told me no. I immediately wanted to go & collect my dog & bring her home to be buried. She didn't bother to tell me that my husband had arranged to have her cremated & paid for her ashes! Instead she told me I would have to talk to the manager & she wasn't in at this time either. I would have to leave my number & not to call again. They called my husband's cell phone & left a very nasty message. To tell me to stop calling & that we were banned from ever going back there again! I did call their corporate office on Tuesday & complained about how badly I was treated. They told me the manager of that area would call me. Well here it is Thursday afternoon & no one has called me. If you love your pet (child) as much as I do I highly recommend that you don't ever take your beloved pet to Banfield in Delray Beach!!! Unless you want to be treated inhumanly & banned from for asking questions about your family member!! In loving memory of Angel Baby Love
