Bama Six Cinema

Bama Six is nasty. The seats are falling apart, the seats are sticky, it is filthy and nasty. I could keep on and on, but you get the idea. It is just awful. The upkeep the last ten years has been virtually zero, and most people drive one hour away to Birmingham to see a movie or they just rent due to the squalor conditions of this "movie" theatre. I will never go here again. It is very bad. Be warned if you go. You will get up and leave. AWFUL, I tell you. Not recommended for anyone at all. more

There was a time this place was the only movie house around. Then it was a time that others opened and this movie house became the worst in Tuscaloosa county. Right now it's still a little old fashioned, but, they show movies for $1.50. Most of the movies they show are the ones getting ready to come onto dvd but in some rental places, you wouldn't be able to rent the dvd itself for what they charge to watch it on the big screen here. I think they are starting to clean it up some because it isn't as bad as it used to be, but it's still a little grim. My daughter, granddaughter and I went a week ago to see Over the Hedge. We thought it was funny that we spent $4.50 for all of us to see the movie, but it cost over $8 for a small nachos and small drink for my grandchild. But, I haven't seen a movie house yet that doesn't do that. I didn't walk away with sticky soles of my shoes and I didn't get a nasty seat, or any other nasty thing that you once could get here. And, I noticed that crowds are starting to build back up here, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. more

ITS OK THAT ITS RUN DOWN, WHERE WOULD YOU GO IF THE NEW ONES WERENT IN TOWN. UH? DONT KNOCK THE OLD STUFF, JUST BRING YOUR AIR FRESHNER AND BABY WIPES AND CLEAN YOUR DAMN SEAT YOURSELF. QUIT BITCHING. more

This theater is located in the Bama Mall area, in the same place you'll fine Toys R Us and Old Navy. This theater is pretty rundown. It hasn't had a lot of business in the last decade since new theaters have opened and now that a newer, bigger one is opened, it probably will see virtually no one in it's doors. So, it hasn't been up kept much. There is some good behind it's dusty interior however. They do show the same movies as everyone else, but, right now, they are showing them for about 70% less than the other bigger theaters. For the other theaters, you're paying extra for ambiance. This one though, it does have it's charm. It's dark, and it's quiet, and almost spooky in a way. This place is a MUST if you are watching a horror flick; the ambiance then cannot be beat! more

I very rarely am over critical of anyone's business but Bama 6 is the pits. The place uses old Dolby sound, they don't get good movies very often, the seats are falling apart (literally, am armrest came off in my hand), and yet they charge as much as the big theatres. I have no idea how they manage to remain open. If you want to see a movie go to the new theatre or go to Birmingham, better yet rent, but please be advised don't go here. more

I hate this theatre. It is always filthy, sticky, and just pretty much disgusting. Me and my boyfriend will drive an hour to Birmingham to see a movie instead of going to Bama 6. I think that pretty much everyone in town does that same thing. Except of course for the billion middle school kids that are there on any given night. more
