I got a large tattoo from one of the owners there, and after having to go back and have it re-done 3 times, i gave up, (to the tune of almost 1000 dollars) i recently started having it covered by a place in mount vernon, and it already looks 10 times better than what was originally put on my arm. my advice is to make sure you see portfolios. the only person there i'd let touch me ever again is dave. more

I got a tattoo here a few years ago, and was not happy with the end result. I worked with the artist and had three or four touch-up sessions with him, but it soon became clear that the kind of work i wanted was outside of the artist's scope. However, I've seen the work from other tattoo artists at this establishment, and their work was great. Be sure to carefully research your tattoo artist if you get a tattoo here. Tha ambiance of the place is nice. more

Tattoos have been gaining in popularity since the 1990s (it will be interesting when all the people with tattoos, myself included, turn 60 and have these wrinkly designs on our skin). What makes this place different then most tattoo parlors is that it is a combination of tattooing as well as a tattoo museum. Even if getting a tattoo isn't something you are interested in this museum is well worth checking out. Who knows...after seeing these you may change your mind! more

Following the advice of several long-time Baltimore residents, this is where I went o get inked. No matter who you are, you won't feel stupid setting foot in here to casually check things out. The staff is friendly but by no means aggressive. They are happy to show you their portfolios and discuss any aspect of tattooing with you but they are also very low pressure. They really want you to enjoy the tattooing experience and take your time making a big decision. You can also learn alot about the history of tattooing here in the small museum part. Again, feel free to ask any questions. If you've settled on an idea, the staff will work with you to refine your design and discuss pricing up front. The experience itself, despite my anxiety, was virtually painless. I am very happy with the way my tattoo turned out. WIthout reservation I recommend the Baltimore Tattoo Museum. more
