As we started our evening off with a ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard, while on the ferry my husband and I started talking to a local about the Vineyard. He suggested Balance to us, as we told him we are major foodies and I even write a Gourmet, Non Gourmet food newsletter, then he actually escorted us to Balance!\r
We were so lucky to get in, the place was packed. The bartender came over and took our drink order (we sat in the bar) she was very friendly and prompt. Yes, the place was noisy, but is all part of a great restaurant. It was great to see the chefs jamming out to the Rolling Stones on the plasma TV set in the open kitchen, right there I knew we were going to have an experience, not just a dinner. My husband started with the Maine Lobster salad, which I shared with him and then went on to the BIG A S S Scallops each set on a bed of polenta. I started with egg rolls in plum sauce which he shared with me and then on to the Seared rare Tuna, oh my goodness, the meals were in incredible, as I said it was an experience; one that we will have again come November 2008. To this day my husband still says it is the best meal he has ever had, and that is coming from someone who has eaten at plenty of celebrity chefs restaurants. So all in all the food was incredible, the service was top notch and I would Highly recommend Balance, if you don't go you will miss out on one of the best dining experiences you will ever have!
Pros: everything
Cons: a bit noisy, but you expect that in such a great place
