this bakery is known as bbangoobneun maeul. it's a great korean bakery in sunnyvale, located off of el camino real at halford, behind the burger king, in between the salvation army store and that wonderful soondubujip (soon tofu restuarant) known as myungdong soondubjip. if you're not famliar with asian bakeries, you'll be surprised by the delicious, buttery fragrance you'll smell when you approach the door.
on the self-serve shelves, you'll find a grand assortment of golden, baked pastries, cookies, rolls, and breads. i hope you understand the value of red bean in asian desserts and pastries. why eat fattening chocolate when you can have sweet red bean that's got much more protein and fibre. well, ok, i know people love cocoa, and you'll find that as well mixed amongst the other sweet delights. try the various bean-based pastries, especially the green one. try the combo bbang. oh yeah, you call the buns "bbang," if you can pronounce that. try the motnani bbang. a motnani is a person who can't do anything right. however, this bun does everything right. try the doughnuts. they aren't the krispy kremes your used to but rather a different style of doughnut.
then come back to buy a birthday cake. they make great fruit covered cakes and cakes with mocha or hazelnut. they're great, light, fluffy cakes, but i've got to admit that ii've had better ones from shengkee or sogo. however, if you've never had cakes from those two places, you won't know better, and these will be the best cakes you've ever had. of course, aki's also has great cakes.
they've got some seats inside as well as outside. it looks like a very fun place to hangout, even though i've never really hungout there.
