More trendy coffeeshop and bakery than strict cupcakery, Baked and Wired packs a very full house at all hours of the day. The shop is crowded with tourists, students, families, and the occasional native, which shows its wear on the frayed staff serving up organic drinks and a surprisingly wide array of sweet-tooth cravings. Of course the cupcakes are the main draw ? screaming colors and flavors prominently plated under tantalizing names like the Chocolate Cupcake of Doom. Though I have noticed a surge of non-traditional bacon-infused food products around town, thankfully the Elvis cupcake just has banana, chocolate, and PB, sans pork, making it a personal favorite. Seating is comfortable but scarce, and loud. Better to escape to sprawl on the waterfront grass a block away, enjoying quality cupcake splendor with necessary serenity for full cupcake consumption concentration.
