Great prices and great fresh food! I had a Sharing Spree that I used to get a party pack for the teachers at my kids' school for Teacher Appreciation Week. They were all raving about how good the food was! We will be back! more

Cheap eats.. pure and simple 5/25/2003

I liked this little mexi-americano eatery. The food was, as the name implied, fairly fresh. The fish tacos were different, but tasty nevertheless, and everything else was pretty good. I hate taco bell, and this was a great alternative. Pros: Tasty more

Great burritos 3/27/2003

An Absolutely MUST is to get the Burrito Dos Manos. You get basically TWO regular burritos with the works: cheese, guac, rice, beans, meat, sour cream, for about7.50. You can't beat it. Plus, I frankly think it is one of the best burritos I've ever had, and I LOVE burritos. GET IT NOW! If you're short on time and just gotta have a little Mex fix, this is the place! They are fast, friendly, and the place is clean, but best of all the food is possibly the best tasting fast-food Mexican out there. more

Overrated Fastfood 11/27/2002

This is highly overrated for a Mexican restauntant. This should be in the cheap eat column, a little higher on the scale than Taco Bell. The food isn't bad, but it isn't impressive either. I would say is rated by people who haven't eaten real Mexican food. If you want to compare it to ""healthy Mexican"" restaurants, I would say that it is better than Macheezmo Mouse. I have eaten at probably 50 different Mexican restaurants and this I would be pretty low on the list. The food was a little on the expensive side for what they give you too. Probably one the main reasons this restaurant gets such a high rating is the health factors that they tote. I guess if your looking for healthy Tex-Mex, this is the place to go. Fresh Mex is Best 11/20/2002

I have eaten at the store in Vancouver off 164th and E. Mill Plain. This is absolutely one of the best places I have eaten. If I had the money I would eat there every day. Baja is the Greatest! 9/25/2002

We just moved here from California, and were so excited to see that Baja Fresh was here too. It's one of our favorite places down south, and the Oregon stores have been just as good so far. We can't wait for the new downtown Burnside location to open. Everything is fresh, healthy, and affordable! more

not impressed with the food. It is overpriced and not authentic. The only place to get authentic mexican food in Portland is at Maria's on N Lombard. Boy she can cook and the portions are unbelievable for the price. Pros: fast Cons: expensive, no flavor more

Not worthy of top rankings 9/16/2002

OK, so yes Baja Fresh is good, but to rank it in the top 10 for Burritos and Mexican food in Portland? Come on people... no way is their burritos better than Iron Horse or Santa Fe, Una Mas... shall I continue??? It's a step above Taco Hell, but by no means should it be in the same category as the rest of the Top 10 places. more

after hearing and reading so much about this up and coming corporate taco joint i decided to give it a try, after all, everything i heard was on the positive side. so i checked it out. one word - overrated. i tried the shrimp tacos - rather bland. i tried the fish taco - mostly breading. i tried the carne asada taco - good. salsa bar was inviting and the salsa's were actually pretty good. overall; you can get a better deal (and a better taco) at one of the local portland taquerias. Pros: cool abmiance Cons: no bargains here more

CAN'T STAY AWAY! 8/13/2002

Baja Fresh is THE place for this vegetarian's appetite when FAST, FRESH, FRUGAL, FULL and FUN are on my mind. FUN? Yes! I don't know how to dance, but I've learned a few new steps and met a few nice people at the Salsa Bar. Three salsas, pico de gallo, cilantro, sliced jalepeno peppers and lime slices are all self serve (as is the free refill soda fountain). It is a rare visit that I can eat the whole thing. Doesn't matter what I've ordered. Every item is ""customizable"" and chips seem to come with everything. Black or Pinto beans, great unsticky and not dried out rice and now MUG Root Beer make this my favorite place to eat bar none. Even my carnivorous friends like it! Not only is the food great, service top notch, but the Gresham restaurant is spotless! Their floor is so clean you could eat off of it. I go there a lot and I've never been disappointed with thier food. Pros: Spotless, delicious food, fast service Cons: tight parking, can be noisy, crowded more

Corporate Tacos Done Right 8/6/2002

I hope Wendy's, who recently purchased them, doesn't change them. They're a great corporate alternative to a taqueria. Excellent salsas and chips. Very good tacos and burritos.
