Bahama Buck's - New Braunfels

Recently I posted a critical review of this store that I am greatly pleased to be able to retract! I've had a very good conversation with Mr Romple, the store owner. He is passionate about the quality of the products in his store, as well as the community of New Braunfels. I am truly pleased that, as an animal-lover himself, he wants to better the housing condition of the birds that he offers for sale in the store. I will be happy to visit his store again when I am in New Braunfels. more

I have been shopping at New Braunfels Feed for nearly a decade now. I shop there because of the fantastic customer service and because they are one of the few places that carry a large selection of livestock feeds without antibiotics. This store is an adventure in shopping especially for small animal lovers and bird enthusiasts as you can find everything from rabbits to parrots and sometimes you may even be greeted by an odd emu chick or two as you walk in. If you are looking for rare breed chickens, this is the place for shopping in the spring as they carry many rare breeds of chickens that cannot be found in other stores.\r The owner Alan, is extremely hardworking, helpful and nice and so are all of his employees. I strongly recommend this store to others, its a wonderful place to shop! more

I get quality dog food there and occasionally other odds and ends. I like that the staff (including the owner) are willing to answer questions and help you get your purchases to your car. NB Feed & Supply has the most extensive inventory of farm- and pet-related stock I've found. Their staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, and the owner is always there to provide friendly, expert advice -- they've never let me down! My kids love to go there just to visit and see what new animals are there, and my daughter especially loves the wide range of hamster supplies! There hasn't been a single time I've been into NB Feed and either not found what I was looking for or have the staff bend over backwards to get it for me. Talk about excellent service! Their inventory is always varied, and I love shopping in there for things other than animal-related products. I've been able to find the most awesome gifts for relatives, friends, teachers and others at very reasonable prices. It is locally owned, and I have a tough time thinking of any other local business owner that will help out a school, church or other group in need. Alan and NB Feed are always tops on my list! The owner is lost in his own world and doesn't give a second thought about the customers or his employees. You can tell by walking in, nobody is happy there. They are nice and knowledgeable, but they are not happy! One employee was not allowed to take a single day off for Christmas or Thanksgiving while another employee took 4 days off for Thanksgiving and 5 for Christmas. Maybe a little bit of favoritism going on???? It's funny that Allen is considered such a "nice" man but everyone I've talked to can't seem to find something specific that is nice about him. He does volunteers, but complains as he does it. He is good at keeping business relationships but that is only because that profits him. This store has pretty much everything I need for my menagerie of dogs, cats and parrots plus gardening and farm supplies. They carry Roudybush parrot pellets from California. Their resident Cockatoo, Madison, is as sweet and entertaining as she can be. The store is clean, the employees are friendly and knowledgeable and I just enjoy browsing all their supplies. When you've purchased what you need, you can go across the street for some Freddie's Custard. Pros: Best Parrot Food in three counties Cons: Closed evenings and Sundays more

New Braunfels Feed and Supply is always an adventure to walk in. The front doors slide open and you never know what you will walk in on. There are usually some rabbits, guinea pigs or ferrets in the front pens, off to the right is the livestock supply and feed area, to your left are the garden supplies, and straight back is my dogs' favorites, the food and treats. And yes, you can bring your pooch in to shop! The staff is friendly, always offer to carry your purchases out to your car, and have even made special orders for me. They do carry upscale pet feeds, as well as the more widespread brands. They accept coupons, and often have a supplier providing free samples of feed for your pets. It's a must for the pet lover to see if you are in the area! more
