Owner Message
  • BACKtoGOLF Performance and Fitness is a full-service physical therapy and sports performance clinic offering rehabilitation for orthopedic and sports injuries as well as sports performance evaluation and training. From an on-site fitness center that includes a rehab pool, to manual therapy techniques such as augmented soft tissue mobilization, we've got the know-how, equipment and treatment methods to help you get back to an active life. We're known for our successful treatment methods, and our friendly, one-on-one care. Our therapists spend the time it takes to ensure your complete and prompt recovery, starting with a thorough evaluation and progressing through a customized treatment plan. Our patients' total health is both a daily goal and a lasting commitment at BACKtoGOLF. We don't think world-class therapy could be defined any other way. Our physical therapists treat orthopedic (joint and soft tissue injuries) disorders and injuries. It's our job to help you relieve pain, strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and correct weaknesses and imbalances that could contribute to future injuries. Treatment takes many forms and can include: Manual therapy, including massage and joint mobilization Exercises to strengthen you for daily activities or sports performance Treatment techniques such as augmented soft tissue mobilization, iontophoresis and taping Body awareness education so you can make changes in how you move that can help prevent re-injury Here are some of the special physical therapy programs that we offer: Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization At BACKtoGOLF, we're experts in a specialized technique called Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (A.S.T.M). Using A.S.T.M, our therapists can break down scar tissue using ergonomically designed instruments to promote greater mobility and range of motion. In some cases, it can prevent the need for surgery. This technique is particularly helpful in the case of: Loss of motion following surgery due to scarring Repetitive stress injuries Chronic irritation or tendonitis Aquatic Therapy Our therapy pool provides an effective environment for treatment of: Arthritis Injuries to the neck, shoulder, low back, hip, knee or ankle Rehabilitation following surgery Chronic pain Muscle spasms Fibromyalgia Bone fracture The water's warmth helps relax muscles and increases blood flow to injured areas, while its buoyancy and resistance provide a low-impact medium for strength and aerobic conditioning. Back Program We believe that once we treat the pain and dysfunction of a back injury or condition, functional training is key to successful recovery and prevention of re-injury later. Our back program includes: Posture re-education Functional training so patients know how to lift, reach, push and pull correctly to reduce risks to their spines Flexibility and core strengthening exercises We work with a range of spinal issues, including cervical strain, herniated disk, spinal stenosis, sciatica, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis and spinal fusion. Post-Operative and Injury Rehabilitation The care you take in the days and weeks following a surgery, such as total joint replacement, or injury, is critical to the success of your recovery. We provide post-surgical and injury rehabilitation that helps you regain strength and range of motion, as well as minimize pain. Our strategy for your recovery includes: Body awareness education: We evaluate how muscles are being used so you can learn to avoid pain, move more easily and correct poor posture. Manual therapy: We use a variety of manual techniques to relieve pain, build strength, improve circulation and increase mobility. One of the techniques we specialize in is augmented soft tissue mobilization (A.S.T.M). Stabilization: We help you strengthen weakened muscles and increase coordination using exercises that simulate the normal tasks or activities required for independence — or in the case of an...
