Best

Every time I go eat here I am pleased. The food, the service and the atmosphere are all excellent! Never fails! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston!

Worst

I finally got to go to Baba Yega last weekend for brunch. Yikes! The brunch buffet was uninspired and not worth the money. I prefer menu brunches but if you want a buffet brunc...

Scrumptious brunch 1/9/2003

The Sunday brunch is scrumptious, inexpensive and the atmosphere is relaxing. Be sure to get there early and not hungry because by the time they seat you, you'll be starving! Pros: Variety of food, Great atmosphere, Inexpensive Cons: Crowded, Long wait in line more

Excellent Brunch! 1/9/2003

Fresh fruit! Great omelettes. Excellent waffles. The entire brunch was outstanding and worth the time. Very relaxing waterfall out back to unwind after eating such a lovely meal. Pros: Selection, Fresh Food Cons: Bird Cage Smelled, Crowded more

Lunching heaven 11/15/2002

Baba Yega is a great place to eat, no matter when you go. But lunchtime brings out its best qualities. The porch area that's simultaneously inside/outside is the best seat in the house. Though all the healthy choices are fabulous, my favorite is their french fries served with a bacon cheeseburger. The cooks don't scrimp on ingredients... always the best of the best are served. Pros: patio, garden, service Cons: parking more

Zen you can eat. 11/1/2002

This garden is the best for outdoor eating in town and if you like to people watch the patio out front works too. more

STILL THE BEST IN TOWN!! 10/14/2002

I EAT AT BABA YEGA EVERY CHANCE I GET. I TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS PLACE ALL THE TIME. THE FOOD IS BEST,THE SERVERS ARE FUN AND GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO, THE MGRS WHO RUN BABA YEGA REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! THE SUNDAY BRUNCH IS ONE OF A KIND, IT'S WELL WORTH THE WAIT......IF YOU HAVE TO WAIT AT ALL. BABA YEGA IS A GEM IN HOUSTON. YOU MUST CHECK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Atmosphere, Food, FUN more

Baba Your Pardon?!?! 9/28/2002

It is obvious they make little effort with regards to the food. It has been the same stuff since they started their brunch and the quality is pretty bad. There are many, many places that top this for brunch. Service is usually pretty poor, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. Pros: Nice atmosphere! Cons: Really bad food., Usually poor service. more

from alaska 9/21/2002

great spot for lunch and frozen margeritas friends had a memorable time more

delicious on all levels 9/3/2002

Delicious on all levels Baba Yega's serves up some tasty one of a kind dishes like the veggie club (you don't have to be vegetarian to enjoy this one!), or melted brie atop smoked turkey or their mouth watering fantasy. The indoor decor is dark wood with lots of windows, while the outside seating is fettered with flowers, plants, parrots and even a waterfall flowing into a goldfish pond. I have never found the waitstaff to be anything but prompt and curteous. A deliciously exotic dining experience. A simple must! Pros: delicious, convenient, luxurious more

Love the food 8/16/2002

My date brought me there for the first time, and I just loved the atmosphere and the food. Nice to think that there are restaurants serving customers who appreciate organic foods. more

Avocado Burgers Rate #1 7/29/2002

Baba Yega's is my favorite ""new"" place to enjoy a hamburger (that actually tastes more like a grilled steak on a bun). The potato salad as a side order complements the burger and is first rate. I highly recommend the ""Avocado Burger"", although the Veggie Burger is also wonderful. There are many exciting items on the menu that I have yet to try and I look forward to their spinach salad. My daughter ordered it on a recent visit - and a sample of the salad was a delight to the taste buds! Pros: ambience is great! Cons: parking limited more

good food, but weird smell 7/29/2002

the food was great - I had a delicious salad with great dressing. However, my group sat in the back and there was a weird smell like a mix between insense and cleaning supplies - perhaps the store next door, but it was on the unpleasant side. more

You'll love it! 7/24/2002

Please come and eat here! This place has the best atmosphere, food, and service. I have been eating here for quite a while and have never encountered bad service. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have moved away from the area but still frequent here and love it. Please try the turkey club! Cons: parking more

Baba Yega: still great after 25+ years 7/19/2002

After going to this Montrose eatery for many years, I have seen many changes here: staff turnover (seen ubiquitously in restaurants), menu changes, renovation and expansion. A recent visit, however, reassures me that Baba Yega is still as charming as ever. The only unfortunate occurrence over the past few years has been its growing popularity! Crowded dining rooms and patios take a toll on service. Although I had no problems at my table, I did notice the staff visibly stressed and some rather impatient customers making things worse. My solution? Going during off-peak hours, like a late lunch or early dinner. Baba Yega is as unique a restaurant as one might find in Montrose. The fare is as eclectic as the surroundings, yet gives a nod to current trends in culinary culture. more

Good Brunch on Sundays 7/18/2002

The buffet brunch is good and reasonably priced at about $15. You have to wait a while at the omelet station, but it's good. The host is a bitchy queen, but the mimosa and bloody marys make up for it. more

Baba YUCK! 7/12/2002

This place is run by management that does not care about customer service. After running into a surly Gen X waiter, I complained only to find the manager was at the same maturity level. The food stinks too ... this place is a real loser. Cons: bad service, lousy food more
