Terrible company and movers. Movers asked $25 for each items need to be wrapped. Ended up charged $75 per item (said it's the material). They loaded and drove to the new home. Asked us to pay the addition money to unload the truck. If we refused to pay whatever they asked for, they would NOT unload our stuff. Days after moving when we were straightened out the house, found a lot of damages on our furniture. An inch long scratch on our leather sofa (they dragged it on the ground without blanket, it was too late to stop them when I saw it), and some smaller scratches, a half an inch dent on the wooden sofa table, and dining table, a few dents on the book shelves, a few dent on our hardwood stair rail.... The movers are not in-house employees of BT Transport Lines. They work for multiple moving companies and seems split money with the company (that's why they try to get as much as possible). Stay away from BT Transport Lines!!! more

If you do anything, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a total scam and have mastered the bait & switch. I was quoted $195 + minimal fees for processing and fuel charge = $234 total. I ended up having to pay them $716 total. They are completely shoddy and unreliable. I was told they had a special where I would only get charged a one time fee for travel regardless of how long it took... but they charged me SIX hours for a 50-minute drive. Additionally I was promised by Betty, the office manager, that I wouldn't get charged for blankets, but that was also charged. They nickel and dimed their way to scamming me out of $716, a far cry from the $234 total I was promised. Furthermore, they were supposed to arrive between 11-12 -- I got a call at 11:30 that they would be 4 hours late and that I would be responsible for paying extra because it would take longer at that time of the day. Are you kidding me? When I called the office to sort it out, they said "you'll have to call back Monday to settle this". WHAT?!? I had to MOVE that day. I finally got a call from another crew with the same company that eventually arrived at 1:30 -- as much as it pains me to admit this, they were efficient and quick and got the truck loaded up within an hour and had everything dropped off in another hour. Three hours total -- THREE, not the SIX they charged me for. On top of that, when I asked the foreman if I could pay a portion in cash, his response: 'make sure you leave enough cash to tip my crew and I". Seriously?!?!?!? I have called 13 times total to get this sorted out since this past Saturday and every time, I'm told someone will call me back. I spoke with one nice person who "promised" at least $101 back on my card for the blankets charge and 1 hour of travel time, but that still hasn't happened nor have I received the confirmation that it will. Short version -- if you want to get completely SCREWED, hire BT Transport Lines. more

My husband and I had a set moving budget of $700 to move our 3bd room apartment from Odenton to Laurel (10 miles of travel). Of all the quotes we received for the size of our home, this company seemed to fit the budget. They quoted me their "Summer Promotional Rate" of $600 @ $75/hr for 3 men and 7 hours plus an hour of travel time. I asked the woman over the phone several times, do they have any extra fees in addition to the price, she told me no. Oh boy, were we in for the biggest shock of our lives!! When the movers arrived, they waited downstairs for a long time (at least 20 min) because they could not find our apartment number but they were still charging us for that time. The main guy in charge ( he seemed to be European) with 3 small Hispanic guys came in and he started to walk around the apartment and tally up all the extra "packing fees". When he quoted me the final price, I almost fainted. It came up to over $1500 in packing fees for a total move price of $2274!!! This company is a TOTAL SCAM AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. We had to leave several items in our apartment to move ourselves like small nightstands, TV (which they charge $75 to wrap and pack), any mirrors or pictures with glass that they charge astronomical prices to pack. My husband was so upset that he walked away to read to our 1yr old son. After telling them we were going to move some items ourselves, it got the price down to $900. Once they started moving, I immediately began to notice how unprofessional this team were. The main guy was constantly on his cell phone and it took them a long time to pack up each item. They also had to stop at our storage unit to pick up items from there, that was a separate charge of $480. Once they got to our townhome in Laurel to unload, that is when the DAMAGE TO OUR HOME occurred. Dents in the wall, they dragged our expensive new sofa in the grass (now its stained), scrape marks permanently in our sectional as well and they broke the frame to our bed. Price for the move?$1479 more than double our quote more

BT Transport Lines proved themselves helpful and efficient on our move from Columbia to Baltimore, MD. We moved a 5 bedroom home and the work was done quickly, this helped us out incredibly since the rate for the move was hourly. Turned out hiring BT Movers was very cost efficient. more
