In Winter Park, nice place by itself, 1 mile from the Morse Museum of American Art, close to bus lines that can drive you almost anywhere in the surroundings of Orlando in less than 2 hours. Comfortable, clean, kind staff, quite cheap. more

We stayed here at the beginning of our fly/drive holiday around Florida. Great value - good sized room, clean and well maintained, friendly staff. 2 minutes from the center of Winter Park so ideal if you're looking for restaurants, cafes and something a bit more laid-back. A great area to walk around and soak up the atmosphere. There's a restaurant for breakfast and a lovely restaurant (Houston's) across the road for fab lake-side dining in the evenings.. We've already booked to come back later in the year. more

Great value - good sized room, clean and well maintained, friendly staff. 2 minutes from the center of Winter Park so ideal if you're looking for restaurants, cafes and something a bit more laid-back. I travel for work (so does my aunt - often staying in 4 star hotels) and the Mt Vernon Inn was just lovely. Right next to a lovely park and practically walkable to the very nice downtown area of Winter Park (and the fantastic Saturday farmer's market). more

The restaurant (open from 7 am till 2 pm) seems a haven for locals and the bar was enjoyable but no noise could be heard in the rooms. I plan to stay here anytime I'm in the Orlando area. more

Stayed 3 nights - Hotel in a good location for Winter Park area, within walking distance. Room rate a bit expensive for the quality of room provided but there are limited hotels in this area. Room size was adequate and had two double beds which is good as my Wife and I could not sleep in the same bed because the mattress was so sunk in the middle we literally kept rolling into each other. Noise from the pool area should stop at 10pm but nobody polices this and we had a group of youngsters outside our room running around quite late one night keeping us awake. Road was busy on the front and noisy but not far too to walk for Restaurants. Room smelled as if people had smoked in it before but was a "non smoker". Never tried the restaurant. Visited Leu Gardens and Orlando Science Museum (very good). Toilet, washbasin and bathroom area clean and very good. more

This is an older motel in need of refurbishing, however our room was very clean and comfortable. The have a little bar / lounge area to enjoy and a restaurant serving good breakfast at reasonable price. more

Clean inn and friendly staff 5/26/2011

I was supposed to stay here only one night on business and then move to the Atlantic side to go to the Daytona 500. Unfortunately, my college buddy whom I was going with had to go out of the country so I changed plans and decided to just stay at the Mt. Vernon for 2 extra days and enjoy Florida weather. The temps went up to the 80s so the weather was great. The inn has seen better days but it is still nice. It is kept very clean. No free breakfast but there is a small restaurant in the inn which serves breakfast and lunch. The breakfasts were reasonably priced and good. One warning, if you get a room around the pool it can be noisy at night because of outside seating for the bar but it seemed to get quiet around 11 so sleep wasn't a problem. There's a large park with a lake directly behind the inn and it is close to many restaurants. The employees with whom I had contact were all very helpful and friendly. The fitness center was small but had what appeared to be quite new equipment. I stayed at the inn because it was halfway between my business meeting and the airport and the inn is only one of 2 hotels in Winter Park and is the more reasonably priced. more

Even though the facility is old and in need of some upgrades, we found the room clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and adequate with a great shower. Felt the price a little high due to the fact that its an old facility. Breakfast at the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. Going back a second time soon. more
