BAILA Society: New York Salsa Classes

to all salseros ! Baila society is the best school online, where you can access tons of great and well explained instructional videos. As lots of dancers do not live in great cities, this is a great way to actually learn new moves, and get great advice when, for some reason, your location prevents you from going to class ... I have been a BASo student for two years now and highly recommend them to anyone at any level. It's rare to find a group of dancers who are both excellent at performing and teaching. What sets them apart from most schools is their organized method of instruction and the vast number of qualified instructors they develop. They have a standardized system of 7 basic salsa moves/executions by which any beginner can understand and build a vocabulary that can be applied almost immediately at any dance social. The instructors are very friendly and encouraging and create a great learning environment. They give individual attention and always respond to and answer any questions I have. I have improved much with their teaching. more

I'm coming into the city from NJ so finding the right Salsa studio was important for me. I've been taking Salsa classes with BaSo for a little over 2 months and I can tell you that commute is worth it because I have nothing but good things to say about their classes and instructors. Their teachers love what they're doing and it shows. They really know how to dance and more importantly, how to teach. They really take the time to break down steps and movements. Everyone is so encouraging and professional. It goes a long way towards creating a positive and comfortable learning, environment, which is important when you're learning a new dance. Probably the best thing about taking classes there is all the cool people I've met. It seems like every class I make a new friend. Overall, highly recommended. more
