Had wedding reception & stayed overnight. Were told by owner that we could have the reception as long as we wanted since it's "the saddest thing" to cut someone's reception short....

Great wedding venue but with a twist 10/8/2008

This is a beautiful venue for a wedding or a weekend stay. Service of wedding staff was absolutely perfect. Faith the wedding planner is on top of everything and as sweet as can be however, some things were not thought of until after deposit was put down and wedding date was near. I recommend this site for a smaller wedding even though the grounds are very large and a crowd that would like to end early. Like I said... the staff were fabulous but the party was starting on Saturday at 5pm. We rented out the whole entire Inn for the night so that the groom's mom and sister flying in from out of town early that morning could also stay in the extra two rooms.Unfortunately, they arrived around 10am and had to sit at our house with their suitcases with all of the family and friends that were staying at our house and also cooking for the party because they would not allow them to check in before 3pm. This was difficult also because we did all of our own food and drink and were not able to bring any of the food/extra decoration/cakes etc. for the day any earlier than 3pm. This didn't leave much time for the bride and groom to get ready and be on time for the party. (which didn't happen) I felt that they could have been more flexible with this and alleviate some stress for us. The only other negative about the place is as mentioned in previous review.... the music ordinance thing. We were asked to turn the music off just before 10pm. Not just down, but off. As this is a once in a lifetime day, I hated that it had to forcefully end so early. I think city ordinance states 11pm anyway, but who seriously complains about this on the weekend over a wedding party at an 8 acre lot? Again, a great place, just ask lots of questions... especially regarding costs and extra charges for people. Pros: Friendly wedding planner, Great ambiance and grounds Cons: Living room furniture, music ordinance, strict check-in constraints more

Please beware! 8/8/2005

Had wedding reception & stayed overnight. Were told by owner that we could have the reception as long as we wanted since it's "the saddest thing" to cut someone's reception short. While dancing outdoors at 9pm the night of our reception, the owner said we had to turn off the music due to a city ordinance. We later found there is no such ordinance. When we asked to dance indoors, the owner said a honeymooning couple had checked in. We later found out this couple didn't exist; the owner even put a "do not disturb" sign on this "couple's" doorknob. We should've been told upfront to end at 9pm; we could've timed things better. It was embarrassing to skip over many songs and then announce we had to suddenly play our last dance. Our guests (and we) were shortchanged. Also, at dinner, some of the food was tasteless and unacceptable. more

I love this Place! 9/6/2002

What a wonderful place. My hubby and I wanted to stay somewhere close when we left our little one for the very first time. It was perfect, the scenery was tranquil, a pond to stroll around, a jaccusi, and great rooms at a great price. Our gourmet French toast breakfast was delightful as well. Thanks Beth and Bud for a wonderful stay...We'll be back soon! Pros: close to home, secluded, affordable! more

  • The Scene
Each bedroom has its own story at this quaint property. The feminine, pink-walled Rose Room was named after the favorite flower of the innkeepers' daughter, while the Violet Room honors the favorite color of one of the innkeeper's mothers. As for said innkeepers, they are the B&B in the name of this place--Bud and Beth.

    The Details
Offering four bedrooms, this pretty house sits on a pond in eight wooded acres. Windows look out onto blue herons, swans, deer and horses. Mickey Mouse paraphernalia brightens up a special bedroom for kids, and the tasteful, Pottery Barn-style family room is stocked with cards, jigsaw puzzles and bumper pool. A location convenient to Research Triangle Park makes this a nice alternative for business travelers. There is a Jacuzzi gazebo for relaxation, and paddle boats and fishing poles are available for guest use. A fully cooked breakfast is served in the sunroom. A variety of wedding packages are offered.
