On August 21, 2009 I signed a contract with B. Byram Construction LLC and the owner **Bill Embley**. The Contract included constructing an addition to an existing home with a completion time of 11 weeks. It is now June 1, 2010 and we are approaching 40 ! weeks since the project has begun!
All payments have been made according to B Byram Construction's and the owner **Bill Embley's** requirements.
As of today, I am not sure if I can say anything is complete. The foundation, framing, and roofing were mostly completed before the end of January but windows were not received until the end of April. The framing inspections to date have failed. We have been trying our best to work with Byram Construction and the owner (**Bill Embley**) but the excuses continue and since January there has been little to no work done. Excavated dirt that was dug in October of 2009 has still not been removed and this along with the holes in the yard continue to make the yard a hazard for everyone including our 4 and 6 year old children.
There have been various items damaged over the course of construction that remain unrepaired. The quality or workmanship from B. Byram Construction LLC and the owner **Bill Embley** has been deficient in several areas and has resulted in several problems including leaks and water damage that has also been unrepaired.
**Bill Embley** has said that he will not be able to continue or finish our addition until he gets money from his next job.
If you have any advice on how I can best handle this matter or know of others that have had similar experiences, please let me know.
