Best

How this guy isn't playing Madison Square Garden is beyond me, but at the same time it definitely doesn't bother me. It's nice to see such a rockin' performance in a smaller venue...

Worst

Decor is nice, service was fine, but the food is only OK (exception being the spicy chicken wings - the best we've ever had) its the live music factor that gives it a boost. Choos...

B.B. KINGs NEVER AGAIN!! 11/18/2007

I had the pleasure/displeasure of seeing the Whispers on Sunday night. The Whispers are one of my favorite groups. I did not mind standing outside for an hour to see them. Their performance was off the hook. They still got it. The harmony was tight and the showmanship top notch. I loved it. However, I will never go to BB Kings again. They are poorly organized, and over priced. The drinks are watered down and the food mediocre. The worst part was being crammed at a table that should have only sat 4 people, and they sat six people. There was no coat check. Customer treatment was appalling. I will go see my favorite artists elsewhere. Pros: Great sound system, great acts Cons: poor organization, mediocre food and service. more

Horrible? Atrocious? Terrible? Heinous? Abominable? All of the above. 9/30/2007

By far the worst restaurant and club I have ever been to. The French waitress was snooty and rude. The food was insanely overpriced, even for Manhattan. The drinks even more so. And for your money you get absolutely terrible food. The pulled pork sandwiches arrived cold and were filled with giant chunks of greasy fat, with barely any actual meat. And their "BBQ" sauce was bland and unpleasant, which perhaps explains why they barely used any on it. All of the dishes served to our party of four were cold...not "not hot." Cold. I didn't think it was possible for a restaurant to be this bad. On the club side, you get crammed into a tiny, intensely uncomfortable table, elbow to elbow with other patrons. And what do you get with your overpriced concert ticket? A $10 minimum per person while you "enjoy" the concert. Luckily one Diet Coke will put you almost to the minimum. If you manage to push past yet another rude waitress, you can get to the restroom, where pushy tattooed thugs try to extort even more cash from you. I can get my own soap, thanks. Our experience at this establishment was pretty well summed up by one of our friends, who on the way out said, "Now I hate BB King." Pros: I'll never have to go back. Cons: Rude staff, massively overpriced, worst food possible. more

Great entertainment, but the food...... 5/26/2007

The entertainment was great. However, the table set-up is awful and very uncomfortable. If you weigh more than 100lbs, forget about sitting at a table! They squeeze 8 people at two 2-seater tables. Then, they regulate who get's the booths based on a party of 4, so it is really not first come first serve for seating, but later, after not having a group of 4, they sat 2 people. The fried chicken wasn't anything that I was expecting. KFC is better than this. Not crispy, doughy, and no seasoning. Mash potatos, ceasar salad, calamari, and catfish bites were good. The BB Berry martini was good. Overall, it was over priced. I spent $90.10 on 2 drinks, the calamari, ceasar salad, and the main course, the chicken. They added tip automatically, and, for a single person at that. I would just go for the entertainment next time. Pros: ambience, performers Cons: too hot inside, food, service more

one of the best places to see music 10/30/2006

they keep getting great acts to play here and also have a lot of class....in the way they run it. this place has great food, too! Pros: great acts play here Cons: limited seating more

Review of BB King 10/27/2006

You might not get to hear B.B. King himself every night, but the other acts at this Times Square spot are top notch. While food and drinks are quite pricey, the varied performances make it all worth it. It can get crowded, so it's advised to get there early for a seat. Classic spot where the legends return 10/18/2006

Another must see venue in the Big Apple. Headliners from the past relive their youth at this spot. The club could use a facelift, but it is very spacious and has a sweet setup. more

Great Live Music 9/25/2006

My husband and I went in to have a beer while we waited for friends. We ordered the house beer, but were told they were out of the specific one listed, but had a different one we could try. We both agreed the waitress brought us back Pabst Blue Ribbon - the cheapest beer you can buy. We asked the waitress how the pulled pork sandwich was, to which she replied that she had never had a complaint. Guess what? I'm complaining! That was the worst attempt at a pulled pork anything that I have ever had! The pork was so greasy it didnt' taste like any identifiable meat product any longer. The grease completely saturated the bread and there was no season or flavor whatsoever! We couldn't get out of there fast enough and vowed to never go back. more

Horrible seating... 7/9/2006

We got there early to eat dinner before the Amel Larrieux concert but already there was a long line (doors open at 6pm)....so if you plan to eat dinner and watch the concert go early!...at least 30 minutes early or else they will run out of seats. I liked the interior but the seating was horrible! They squeezed us in like sardines in a can....felt like we were at some big family reunion except I didn't know the person sitting right (on top of) next to me. If you happen to sit next to someone who is loud, you might spend the rest of your dinner listening to their relationship issues. You can opt to sit at a separate booth but that was only for bottle service. I ordered the BBQ combo...chicken was dry, ribs were mediocre but the sweet potato fries were good. Overall, the food isn't really worth the price. Pros: live music, cool interior Cons: seating!, service was blah, crowded more

Mean people suck 5/8/2006

everyone that works here is mean from mgmt to the door men. don't go here. Pros: none, none, none Cons: mean, unfriendly, bad karma more

Concertgoers beware 1/28/2006

One the last places to still book metal , which is a shame - The drinks are overpriced, the bartenders surley, and the bouncers, forget about it - They are just there to beat up people it seems. Nothing but problems everytime I go there to see a show. Might be an ok venue to see mainstream acts, but if it's a heavy metal show, avoid if you can . Pros: location Cons: service, expensive drinks more

Best in NY 10/13/2005

Went there on a Thursday night to see Amel Larrieux. The Hostess was very catering in finding us a seat, the waiter was attentive and there when we needed him. The place was crowded but who can blame the people, the performance was great. The drinks a little bit on the pricey side, the most I ever paid for a cosmo and baileys on the rocks in NYC the food was delicious. I would definetly go back there again. Pros: music, food Cons: crowded more

Go if you must 9/11/2005

If you have to see a band there , then you have to go . Otherwise avoid . Pushy security , no buybacks, & the sound system is erratic . Nokia theatre, if it's halfway decent , should put this joint down for the count . Pros: Location Cons: rude service, sound system more

If you like the entertainment then go 8/14/2005

Decor is nice, service was fine, but the food is only OK (exception being the spicy chicken wings - the best we've ever had) its the live music factor that gives it a boost. Choose to dine here if only if the entertainer appeals to you, otherwise skip it. more

southern comfort right in times square 10/3/2004

Located inside, but seperate to, B.B.King Blues CLub, Lucille's has actually been around since the club first opened 4 years ago however it has always been noted simply as a sidekick grill and bar to the main room. even as a sidekick bar though, it's still been able to garner great reviews ("the best great bar you'd never think was a great bar"- NY Press)..recently the owners have decided to make a completely seperate entity out of it and hire a new chef (jeffrey fishman) and create a new menu (refined southern cuisine). still in tact is the nightly free live music and the bar's very chill magagony laden trimmings. whether for lunch, a pre- theatre dinner, an after work drink and quick bite or for a formal dinner party- it really is one of the better bargains (food and entertainment in all) in time square. Pros: portions, free live music, heart of time square more

Yeah, but why??? 11/30/2003

If you wanna drink you could do better. If you wanna eat, ditto. But if you want music, pick the right time and have a great time. Pretty hard to get a bad seat or a good meal. Go, but be warned. more

BB KING ROCKS! 7/7/2003

This place rocks! Great food and music. The variety is great. It's a beautiful club and the service is great. Pros: music, food, decor more

Lifestyles of the Rich and Pretentious 3/29/2003

Ugh. Geez, I wish all these great musicians would play other venues! Overpriced would be putting it mildly. Came to hear Jack Bruce (for $50+ a ticket) and the rude people next to us talked all the way through the gig. no complaints from the staff as long as they kept ordering $20 hamburgers. it is hard to avoid this place for all the great acts that play there but all in all it SUCKS! Oh, and if you want a table where you can see reserve a seat from a very expensive dinner. Blues bar...HA! Pros: Music Cons: Overpriced, Attitude, Seating more

Nice Place 2/19/2003

The sound system is really good, and the place looks real nice too. Went there to see Damian Marley and had a great time ! The only thing is the bathroom helpers... I hate that: they help you dry your hands, as if we needed slaves to take care of ourselves. Rich people must love that, but i don't ! Pros: Sound more

this place ROX 1/21/2003

we go here at LEAST once a month- there's always tons of different acts to choose from AND they have the best pear margaritas! great for calm sit down nites or crazy dancing bands! just saw bb- can't WAIT for james brown! and dave mason! Pros: ALWAYS great music, AWESOME bartenders, totally fun Cons: can be a bit pricey, times square more

The Happening Place 1/21/2003

We have been there twice to see BB king and will be back. Not a bad seat in the house. We were very happy with the food, drink, and service especially Dave. We love this place and NYC. This place is NYC. Pros: Music, Food, Service Cons: Tables alittle small more
