Editorial review from Citysearch 8/19/2012

Stayed here in August 2012. It's an excellent budget B&B on Shelter Island. We managed to book a last minute room in the high season for $200 a night. That's darn cheap for Shelter Island. Room was clean and spacious, and we had a lovely little outside porch. The breakfast part was simple--coffee, cereal, english muffins. The innkeepers are scarce, but that wasn't a problem (it's just unusual, based on our other visits to B&Bs). That said, Azalea house was a life saver when we needed a place to stay for friend's wedding, the other folks staying there were lovely, and the location is great. more

Comfortable, clean budget accomodations near the beach 8/21/2008

A galpal and I stayed at Azalea House's shared bathroom accomodations. It was clean and comfortable, with in-room TV and a simple breakfast. Decor was a bit dated, but for $95/night on an August weekend (peak season), that was fine. Owner, Anu, was nice and knowledgeable about local activities. Azalea House is within 3 miles of the pretty Cresent Beach, so the location is wonderful. Good, simple accomodations. Pros: Inexpensive, fabulous location, includes breakfast Cons: bring your own shampoo, conditioner, hairdyer, travel iron, etc more
