Mr. Ayres response to Mr. Sean Andrus complaint is as stated. He purchased a Front End Replacement bumper from Ayres Inc on October 29, 2012. Most manufacturers’ bumpers have a one year warranty on the finish coating. The manufacturing is no longer in business. The Invoice that Mr. Andrus signed states that we at Ayres Inc. DO NOT warranty ANY of the products the MANUFACTURER addresses the Warranty. \r
I told Mr. Andrus that we would help to get this resolved. I told Mr. Andrus that we would cover the labor of taking the Front End Replacement off and on, transporting it to and from the paint shop. Installing and loan him a factory bumper until his Front End Replacement was returned. I honored everything I told Mr. Andrus. After receiving estimate I called Mr. Andrus and told him to get the Frontend Replacement repainted would cost $450.00 plus tax but, the painter needed to inspect. This was our cost (no monies added) and this was what we were doing to help resolve the issue. \r
Mr. Andrus came into our shop to have the bumper taken off. We had an invoice filled out with the cost of $450.00 plus tax. Mr. Andrus signed this invoice stating that he gave us permission to carry out the work before we authorized the painting. Mr. Andrus agreed.\r
My response to Ayres Inc. taking more than 2-3 business days on getting the bumper returned, the item was painted but we were advised that the finish needed to harden before we could transport it. I placed a phone call to Mr. Andrus and informed him of the situation. Mr. Andrus once again gave us the ok.\r
We kept Mr. Andrus informed of everything every step of the way and always got an ok.\r
In Response to him being locked inside of our gates, Ayres Inc. closes at 5:30pm. Mr. Andrus showed up at our business we were still working ‘on Mr. Andrus’ truck (even after hours). I pulled my two trucks in front of the gate. As I walked back inside I heard Mr. Andrus hollering and cursing. I called the police. The Police Officers can testify that any steps taken were steps necessary. The officers were there the entire time of the disagreement. They were going to arrest Mr. Andrus on 3 different occasions, but I Refused to press charges. The officers asked us multiple times if we would like him arrest due to his behavior and language, I declined. I stated that we did not want to ruin the young man’s life for something as small as this; I just wanted him to pay his bill.\r
In saying all of this Mr. Andrus confessed that he used the front end replacement to hit cattle gates to open them. Hitting the gates affects the finish on the product. Any impact damage would be considered abuse or neglect and is not covered under warranty. This alone relieves us of ANY obligations. \r
