Avon Gentle Dentist

HORRIBLE!!!! Messed me up several times. I am NOW in the process of changing my Insurance to a different dentist as I type this. Same stories as above + worse. I believe there is a lot of unnecessary work done here and poor work at that. Messed up one crown twice. Tore the inside of my mouth up. (cuts) They Have the ASSISTANTS do most of the work instead of the dentists & they are sloppy. ( All except one) Will NEVER go back. Stay away!!! more

My daughter had an appt to see Dr. Mustard in the spring. It was the first beautiful sunny day in a long time. I had requested to take off from work for the appt- this required that I go in on Saturday to make up the time I missed from work. They left me a message at work about 1 1/2 hours before the appt asking to move up my appt for the next 1/2 hour. I tried to return the call and it kept going to voice-mail. So I left a message that I could not get their earlier and wanted to keep my appt time. I did not hear anything back from them. I left work, picked up my daughter and then went to the Avon Gentle Dentist Office. It was completely shut down!!! I could not believe that I had been stood up for a dental appt??? I paged Dr. Mustard and left him many messages explaining what he and his office had done and requested a call back with an explanation (an apology would have been nice). Dr. Mustard did not return my page or phone message. I ended up having to go in to work on Saturday to make up the time I missed so that Dr. Mustard could close shop early and enjoy the good weather. When I rescheduled the appt and explained what had transpired to the office staff they were not in the least apologetic. They were extremely rude. We will never go back. more

I went to Gentle Dentist in Avon for a check up in November 2011. I hadn't been to the dentist in a 1 1/2 due to having a child and moving from a different state. Assistant did back ground but never looked in my mouth, then took x-rays, dentist came in looked in mouth then did gum check, it hurt really bad. Told me I had gingivitis, then she checked x-rays and I could hear her counting away. She said I had a lot on my right side and it was probably because I hadn't been in so long and that isn't healthy. Gave me a speech, which I had heard her give the same speech to the person next chair over. Then she said well let me make sure, so did check a couple of my teeth and said yep I am seeing it on x-rays correctly. Never told me which ones and never said how many. Looked at printout and they found 11 cavities, I haven't had that many cavities in my whole life let alone on visit. She said they were in between my teeth. Every person there was having a cavity filled or a crown or scheduling to have one done. I told them I would think about it and send my x-rays. My dentist friend looked and said I see a few maybe, but told me to get a second opinion so I went to another Dentist in Avon. They treated me very well. Didn't tell them about Gentle Dentist but gave them copy of x-ray and he thought he saw 1 for sure 2 maybes but wanted different x-rays (took without charge). They cleaned my teeth after oral exam which was very extensive. Next visit, He then confirmed one cavity with new x-rays and nothing else. One cavity vs 11 cavities. Seriously who is Avon Gentle Dentist trying to fool not me! more

I just had to write a review after reading the two previous reviews and their very low rating. I've found all of the employees at Avon Gentle Dentist to be very kind, thoughtful and intelligent. Dr. Atmar is by far the kindest dentist I have ever been to. She takes time with you and genuinely cares about you. The front desk staff are polite and courteous, the hygientist is friendly and very thorough, and the dental assistants are all also very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr. Atmar and Avon Gentle Dentist to anyone looking for a friendly, professional and kind dentist more

This office has very rude customer service/Administrative staff. They treat their customers like idiots. Cons: Don't trust customers, and treat them as idiots more

I have had dealings with this office for nearly 9 years off and on...mostly off due to the fact that they have the poorest customer service I have ever seen in any professional business...you would think that their front desk help would be better educated with customer service than they are...and it has not been the same person every time I have had to deal with them...If I question anything that they would tell me, I am treated with a disrespectful attitude...like being placed on hold without warning, or told that I was wrong, because their records were kept electronically...it is a very condescending attitude...I don't need it, nor do I want it.
