It would appear that most of the reviews have been provided by the long time regulars as they seem to be slightly over exaggerated. I, myself, feel it falls far below satisfactory and give it an overall rating of 3-4 on a scale of 1 to 10. It is one of the older establishments within Montrose and at one time was a nice place to stop in and have a drink to unwind, or to meet with friends socially for conversation or a game of pool. The price of the drinks is a bit high for the area when you take into account the quality of service and the business is in basically in an overall state of disrepair. You can play a game of pool (there used to be 2 pool tables, I believe now there is only one) as long as you are unconcerned with the condition of the table or equipment as it is all in extremely poor condition and since the table is moved indiscriminately on a regular basis to accommodate live entertainment on the weekends, it is not level and the balls do not roll right. The live entertainment is its most attractive feature these days, but given its small size, it's not a place to go for those who value their 3 feet of personal space. In an effort to cut costs, management uses a strictly conservative policy with regards to maintaining temperature for their patrons comfort. In other words, during hot days and busy times it often gets stuffy and overwhelmingly uncomfortable. The positives it has to offer are its uniquely small town nostalgic feel which I believe is due to its longevity in the area and Montrose is a pleasant and ideal location for any business serving the public so if the conditions inside the bar get to be too much for you, you can always step outside to a nice semi circle of benches for some fresh air. It's a place I would recommend you go to at least once, for the experience, but it is not someplace looking to attract any new regulars, but for the long time customers, its certainly got its "regular appeal" ;-)
