Our Pastor took us to Avery's to have our van checked; we weren't sure if it needed a battery or alternator, or both. After I told the mechanic what was going on and how old the battery was, he said it was best to get them both. He ordered the alternator and my van was fixed before the end of the day. These guys really know what they're doing and we will go back there again (hopefully not too often). more

Yes, I know the title might seem oxymornic, as the perceptions of many mechanics is that they'll try and cheat you at every turn. Not so here!\r \r I've been a long-time customer of Avery's for a long time; we went to him for our vehicles before I started driving, and my current and last vehicle were both purchased through him. The guys there are great at what they do, and honest to boot. Their prices are also very fair, and they stand behind their work.\r \r Avery's won't try to sell you anything you don't need, which is a problem that I used to have when we used to get the oil-change specials offered at other places; they'd try to get me to spend money that I didn't have to, by telling me that there were half a dozen things that 'should' be seen to. Needless to say, my oil changes are now mostly done by Avery's. more

If you want fast, friendly service on your car that is guaranteed not to overcharge. They explain what is going on with your car, and explain what your options are also. They give you options for prices and tell you the truth. They will tell you the prices at other businesses in town. The communication was great, the service was speedy and great friendly service. more

I do not usually use auto repair services in Lapeer but on my way home, my car started acting strange. I was afraid I would not make it home so stopped here. They took a look at my car and told me one of my spark plug wires was loose, hooked it back up and sent me on my way. They could have told me anything and charged me a few dollars, but they were very upfront and honest. more

Whether it was my husband's truck or my beat up car Avery has always come thru. When my car had to be towed on a Sunday he got it before the end of the day and when it turned out to be just a bad wire connector on the starter he replaced the connector and only charged me for the tow. Had the car back the next day. Every thing we have had done at this garage has been reasonable in price. They came very highly recommended for high performance work and they have lived up to that recommendation. more
