Avanti's Italian Restaurant

If you live anywhere in Illinois near Bloomington-Normal you are probably familiar with Avanti's Italian Restaurant. (There are also locations in Peoria, IL) It is always crowded, a favorite of the college kids and their parents! They have a large dining room with plenty of seating. They also have a walk-in area, where you can order and carry out many of the menu options. The menu is fairly extensive with a variety of Italian dishes and pizza. I have actually dined in a few times and never been disappointed. The prices are very affordable and the food is always good...not gourmet...but good. Most people I know are mainly interested in the bread! They make a simple sandwich they call a Gondola. It is ham, salami, cheese and lettuce on sweet, fresh Italian bread. You can also just buy a whole loaf of the bread with butter for $2.25. Avantis is a great place to go for Italian Food. They are a locally owned restaurant. It is my six year olds favorite place to eat! They have a childrens dish with his two favorite foods--chicken strips and noodles. They are very fast and friendly but if you go during the typically busy times be prepared to wait for a table. Anything on the menu from pasta to sandwiches is great and you have to try their bread. It is wonderful! I would recommend this place to anyone! more

This is the perfect place to eat with large groups and small children. Fast friendly service and they are aswome with the kiddo's more

The Avanti's Restaraunt is a great Italian restaraunt. The staff are very courtious and can answer any questions you have. The food tastes very authentic. Their prices are a little on the expensive side but is well worth the extra money for the great taste. The food is quickly prepared and served nice and hot. They have great hours and can also cook for a group of people. Great to have parties or family get togethers. I would definitely recommend Avanti's to anyone who is looking for a great evening with great food. more
