Here at Avanti Jewelers, we strive for the highest degree of customer service. There are unfortunate events that arise however, and we do wish to fix them as best and quickly as possibly. We have a master jeweler on site, and he is in charge of all of our repairs, including our warranties. However, if he sees evidence of customer abuse or other damage, we cannot cover this with our warranties. No company would.
We would most certainly help our customer in this situation by giving them a discounted repair price.
Regrettably, this customer admitted to bringing the piece to another jeweler to have it repaired. We have a strict policy of voiding warranties on pieces that have had work elsewhere, as we can no longer speak for the quality of the service on the bracelet.
As for the "Going Out of Business" sale, at the time, we were indeed going out of business. The owner was planning on retiring in 2009, but, in order to keep good businesses in Gulf View Square (the mall we have been in for 25 years), he worked out a deal to stay open.
As it stands, the owner will now be retiring in March of 2012, though the actual store will more than likely stay open under new ownership.
We do hope that in the future comments like this will be brought to our attention sooner than this, as we would have responded much more rapidly. But also we hope that our customers will allow us to accommodate them as best we can before this situation occurs.
Sincerely,
Andrew Green,
Store Manager,
Avanti Jewelers
