Annette is the best! 2/8/2012

I have been styling my hair with Annette for the past 2 years and all i can say is that she is THE BEST hair stylist that I've ever had! She is always available when I need her. I am also a very undecided person, so you could imagine. She is very patient with my needs and always helps me decide, so i just leave it up to her to do whatever she wants with my hair and it always comes out beyond excellent! I love styling my hair with her! I am always referring clients to her because I think she is really good at what she does. She is very professional, happy and friendly. I love her and I wouldn't trade her for anyone else. If you ever visit Avalon hair design, ask for Annette and you won't be let down. more

Annette is the Only person Allowed to Touch My Hair!! 2/8/2012

Annette has been doing my hair since 2008, and I will never go to anyone else (I tried once and it was a BIG mistake, just ask Annette). I have done everything from a simple cut and blow out, to her taking out 5 years of black dye for me to become a red head. She is always up to try new and fun things with me, and always gives her honest opinion if something will look good or if it's a bad idea. Recently (about a year) Annette has been doing my extensions, and I LOVE THEM! If they need a quick maintenance, she is always readily available to fix them real quick. I send all of my friends and family to her, and there's a reason, SHES THE BEST! more

Annette Nieves is phenomenal ! 2/7/2012

Annette's vision and expertise has kept my hair going from 2008-2011, and it is missing her this year, as I sit here in Helsinki, Finland. I refuse (yes, refuse) to allow anyone else style/cut my hair. Annette will know what you mean, and what you want, leaving you to relax and enjoy the experience. Upon returning to Miami, I will enjoy a colada, & then I will run straight to Annette's capable hands for some hairstyling. more

My experience at Avalon salon has always been amazing. Tina has been coloring my hair for the past six years and I could not be happier with the results. Tina is always friendly, making your experience warm and welcoming. I highly recommend her work she has a way of making your hair look natural, and absolutely incredible! more

RAY...YOU ARE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO!!!! 6/6/2010

I havent ever had my hair touch besides my old stylist of 4 years...but one day suddenly i wanted to find somebody with more knowledge, and fun that will give me a new look...i have long hair so afraid to damage it or fry it...so i start searching..and i read the reviews and follow my heart...meeting RAY has been wonderful...i been there 2 times already and the last time i got the works..i got so many compliments on the color, the volume, the cut....iam so happy i found you, RAY....he is the best..give him a try...you wont be disappointed...and by the way..the coffee they serve is wonderful...i love it!!! more

I went to louis after a disaster happened to my hair not only did he fix it but now my cut and color look current he actually made my hair look healthier with his magic. now im really happy thank god for louis... Pros: SEXSIEST LOOK more

Nice up-scale salon with a down-to-earth feel and cool employees. The girl who washed my hair gave me the best head massage EVER! And, my experience from beginning to end was nice and easy. I'd recommend. more

Fabulous Hair 10/30/2009

I'm new to Miami and I have found the most awesome hair stylist! Lissette has done my hair now for the past several months. I get remarkable compliments on my color, highlights, and style everyday! So, if you want your hair to look amazing, ask for Lissette. Oh, and the girl that washes hair Ceci does an amazing job along with the nost relaxing massage! And the nail tech Letty is fabulous also! Hip, trendy, yet down-to-earth salon: feels like home 10/24/2009

Avalon delivers an upscale, unique cut and style to its clients while maintaining a relatable, friendly attitude. Having become familiar with the Coral Gables area for the past few years, as well as South Beach and Coconut Grove, a snobbish attitude is what you typically find when dealing with salons and fashion industries. And the majority are all about the area, resulting in high prices with a lack of quality. Avalon is completely different. Rei and Tina (the owners) have created a family feel to their salon. They go out of their way to make you feel like more than a customer, but more like a part of a community. The quality of work they do is superior to other salons, and their pricing is more than reasonable. Fanstatic 10/22/2009

I recently moved back to the Miami area, after being away for 13 years. Having the same hair stylist for the past 11 years, I was concerned about finding someone that will do my hair and make it look fabulous. My long time family friend Tina Vila, happens to now be one of the co-owners of Avalon Salon; along with her partner Ray Leonard. Tina is not only an incredible hair stylist but also has the most fabulous hair stylist in her salon along with her co-owner Ray. Both Tina and Ray have clients that have been coming to them for over 20 years! The atmoshpere is warm, friendly, and proffesional all at the same time. And not only do they make my hair amazing but also the cuban coffee they serve is outstanding and makes you feel at home in Miami. PROFESSIONAL, GREAT ATMOSPHERE 6/18/2009

For many years, I went from one hair stylist to another but was never satisfied. My hair was either too short, too long, or without any style. Thus, I decided to make an appointment with Rei at Avalon. To my surprise, he took the time to ask what I wanted done to my short hair. Rei not only gave the “perfect haircut” but I found myself to be in a professional place that was relaxing, clean and well organized. Now, I can finally say that “I found the one.” Great job, Rei. i been livinfg here in the gables o most a year in this new location i live 2 streets from there i saw it decide to go make a apoinment and lisette did my hair at first i was a bit nervous the i got more relax and she did a great job on me its a bit expensive but worth it Pros: very good service Cons: they should make more conversation with the people to quiet and it make you a bit uncorftable more

Best Salon 12/4/2008

I have been Ray and Tina's customer for 21 years, since I was a teenager. They are fabulous. What you ask is what you get, trendy, classic, modern, you name it they can do it. They use the best products for your hair. I get so many compliments on how healthy my hair looks and how great my hair cut is, from friends and strangers alike. The salon is beautiful and spacious, perfectly clean, the ambiance is inviting and relaxing, everyone always makes you feel welcome. There is parking in the back of the salon free of charge and metered parking in the front. I have a teenager and baby who get their hair cut with Ray. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have a lot of customers that have been with them as long and longer than I have. If you want beautiful hair this is the salon. I have to say that I've been going to the ""best"" salons in Miami for years . . . on the Beach, in Bal Harbour, and in the Gables. This is definitely one of the best salons in Miami and on top of all that it's super friendly and the people there are great!\r \r You will love it there! A+++++ BEST STYLIST 4/28/2008

I have had long hair for most of my life, and I always had it up in a ponytail..I was really sick of it !\r I have a couple of friends that have told me for a long time to go to their stlist in Avalon (LUIS )\r Well, since their hair always looks healthy and beautiful I decided to try him. He was very nice \r and explained to me why I needed a change, It was clear to me he knew what he was talking \r about. So, I let him not only layer my hair I also had some dazzling highlights too (as he said )\r to frame my face and give me a softer look ! WOW, I am so glad I went to him he transformed \r my look completley...I now feel soooo much more stylish, sophisticated and pretty...\r I never put my hair up anymore thanks to Luis and I get compliments all the time on how \r lovley my hair looks.. I have finally met the best stylist in the Miami, his name is Luis @ Avalon.. I was told by a friend ( that has perfect hair ) that he was the BEST !!! And it was true, he is the best stylist I have been to in Miami. I have now been going to him for over 1yr. and my color,and cut is flawless ! He has transformed my dull lifeless hair into a WOW !!! Avalon Salon is the best one stop shop for beauty..... The staff is super friendly and the salon is relaxing....I have been a clinet of Tina""s for a long time ,and would not let anyone else cut or color my hair...she is the best....Avalon is owned by Ray and Tina and i would recommend either of them to anyone...give them a try....you will not be sorry...great job guys!!!! more
