Avalanche Pizza

Best Pizza that I have ever had. Dough and Sauce made daily right in the store. Over 50 toppings to choose from, but I couldn't decide what combination to go with. So I looked over their 30 some "Signature" pizzas (several of which have won awards) and went with a Batgirl. I thought I would try it because I love corn and potatoes, but have never had that on a pizza. Who would have thought, but it was amazing. The guy who made it likes to made his pies into "an edible work of art" so it looked so beautiful that I didn't want to destroy it by eating it at first but was very glad that my hunger took over. It took a little while to get the order because they were so busy, but well worth the wait. I can't wait to get back over to Athens and try another of their combinations. more

We bought several "loaves" of bread at the Farmer's market on a Saturday. It was outstanding. in fact, it is the best bread that I have tasted in Ohio, especially the Asiago. You need to plan on eating it all in one day because like most fresh bread it does not keep well. more

Avalanche Pizza is my favorite local pizza store in Athens, Ohio. The first reason is because of the unbelievable prices - you won't find a cheaper pie anywhere else. It's great deals for college students, so on cold days when your friends want to get together and hang out, it's good to have them on speed dial. You'll get a lot of food for a low price. I also love the amazing pizza and breadsticks they have. The way they wrap the breadsticks make them stay warm while it's delivered - nothing's worse than cold food!! The dipping sauces are excellent, too, and there's an assortment to choose from. Plus an assortment of toppings - pineapple and ham, anyone? more
