Worst

very bad expeirance with engine replacement there it took a long long time charged me 2 hours of labor to take of valve cover bolts which my 9 yr old could of done even in a half ...

Bottom line; they saved me money 12/26/2012

I have never had a better experience with an auto shop. The price they tell you out the door is the price you pay when you pick up your car no hidden fees. They treat my wife and I fairly and would never try to charge a woman more money. They really potray the family atomsphere and seem to have repeat customers. The shop manager Sean has always gotten my car in the same day and fixed it the next day. We drive a VW and a Honda and I feel the level of compentency with forgien vechiles is what really brings me back each and every time. I can safely say that I trust this shop with my car (that I put about 700 miles per week on) to do any sort of service. If you live in the Ithaca area and own a VW stop going to Bill CROOK and start saving money. If you own a Honda they have an ASE certified tech and specialize in Honda. All in All they seem to bend over backwards to assits their customers in any way possible. more

I've been taking my 1988 Acura to Autoworks since purchasing it two years ago. They always take the time to explain options to me and even after spending an hour trying to diagnose a problem, don't charge if they couldn't figure it out. I can trust them with my car and my pocketbook. more

I used to work in a shop and this is the best garage that I've ever dealt with. They know their vehicles; they don't do unnecessary repairs -- even repairs that they could well claim need to be completed; they are friendly and professional and their shop rate is reasonable. Unless you are driving a vehicle that demands very specific knowledge or repairs that can be completed only by a dealer with specialized equip., its hard to imagine a better general repair shop. Even though I don't live in Ithaca, I hold off completing repairs until I come to visit friends here. I can't recommend them highly enough. more

I agree totally with the excellent evaluations above. Autoworks has my confidence. Service is unparalled. I am nearly 82 years old and have seen a great many repair shops, several of them very good; have lived and driven from coast to coast in USA and in Canada. more

I was a customer at the local Honda dealer but i was refeared by several clients. So i gave autoworks a chance and i have never been happier with the quality of service, myself and now most of our family recieve at autoworks! I Feel Autoworks is the best repair facility in Ithaca NY more

I had an excellent experience with AutoWorks. They were professional and courteous. I brought my car in for a oil change and alignment. When the mechanic noticed other issues he brought me back and showed me exactly what was wrong. He gave me his opinion as to what should be dealt with now, and what could be safely ignored and monitored. more

My car had a bad misfiring problem -- the sort that could be caused by 15 different things. The shop thoroughly diagnosed the problem (on the second try, but they made sure to have me come back and test drive it so we caught the additional problem). They promised not to give me back the car if it wasn't in perfect shape, and they didn't. They explained what was wrong. And I'm pretty sure they saved me a lot of money on parts and (very) reasonable labor costs. Thanks guys. more

I was sold on them after the Honda Dealership in Ithaca told me I needed a new transmission to the tune of over $3,000. George diagnosed the problem (which didn't require a new transmission), fixed it and after adding a new clutch and timing belt, charged me $1,000. I think of Autoworks as the Honda repair shop of Ithaca. Thanks for your integrity, knowledge and kindness. more

I started going to Autoworks when I had an old Acura & they had just recently opened. Now I have a Subaru but I still go there because of the great service. I can totally count on them to do honest work with fair pricing. As a woman, I've never felt taken advantage of in any way. The owner is on top of all of the work done in the shop & they are good at explaining necessary repair work. I've referred several people to go there & the only downside is they are busier than ever. They are very responsive in helping with repair emergencies for loyal/repeat customers. Plus, Gizmo is the sweetest cat in the world & will keep you company in the waiting area. more

The people at Autoworks have always treated us exceptionally well. Their estimates are very close to the final price and, if they find something, they will discuss it with you. The counter people are fast and efficient. The mechanics are knowledgeable and are willing to answer any questions about the work needed. I would highly recommend Autoworks for any repair needs. more

We have two old cars entrusted to George and his crew. They do a great job, and they have an amazing memory for cars and people. George even recalled working on one of our cars when he was at the dealership! Everyone there treats us with respect, spends the time to answer our questions, and does their best to keep costs down without compromising on safety or quality. And they go the extra mile to diagnose -- one of our problems required a 15-minute test drive up and down the neighboring hills before the stubborn car started doing what we were worried about. Definitely a 5-star shop. more

I recently brought my car into Autoworks after being taken advantage of at another local shop. Shawn treated me with the utmost respect. In fact, when I needed to get back to work and my car was not ready, he let me take his car. They are always looking out for the customer and not just themselves. I trust Autoworks 100% and that is pretty amazing being a female car owner and having several bad experiences. I will never take my car anywhere else. more

One of the most important things in 5/30/2012

One of the most important things in life is having a great auto shop to go to. Well, ""Autowworks"" is thE place to go to for honesty, integrity, and overall complete and utter satisfaction. Their service is impeccable, repairs are explained thoroughly to even a novice, such as myself (yeah...I admit it...I'm a woman; yet, they always treated me as an equal!!) The staff is absolutely amazing, friendly, and completely trustworthy and helpful! Sean, Hillary, and George are the greatest people who go out of their way to make sure customer satisfaction is of the utmost priority. I am quite certain all of their customers feel as I do because going to Autoworks means having the peace of mind to know you're getting your money's worth and not worrying about ever being over charged! They ROCK!! I love them all! more

I would definitely use them again. 5/15/2012

I was backing out of a parking spot and snagged my bumper on a cement pylon. Half my bumper came off. I called Autoworks and spoke to Mike Lane (body shop manager) and he told me to bring the car in so they could have a look. I brought the car in this morning and Mike fixed the car right away (took about 30 min) and charged me nothing! They just asked me to consider them again if I ever had a car problem. They saved me at least a few hundred dollars! I highly recommend Autoworks to anyone who needs body work done on their car. They were honest, nice and great people to deal with. I would definitely use them again. more
