Unbelievably Terrible Service! 8/1/2011

Since the sales process ended, I've had a horrible experience. My first oil change took nearly three hours with an appointment. Next, a piece of my air conditioning vent broke off. I scheduled an appointment and took time out of my day to take the car in only to find that the part I had so meticulously described over the phone to the service department was not available. I was assured it would be ordered right away, and I more

Worst car buying experience ever 8/10/2010

If I could give negative stars I would. This is the WORST car buying experience I have ever had in my life. I have bought several cars from places all around Texas and have never ever had problems like I have experienced here. To start off the salesman had $$ in his eyes from the moment we met. I understand he is a salesman and most salesman like to pull a fast one on you so I let it go but made it clear that no one would be taking me for anything. So I found a car I liked for a pretty good deal. I have always bought used vehicles because I've found that it is a much better deal. That being said I've never ""felt"" like I drove home a used car. I've always felt that I drove home new cars because it is new to me and the dealers make it look and feel like a new car...that being said Champion did none of the sort. First they tried to give me 18.9% interest!!!! I quickly turned that down and he said it was the best he could get me with my credit...to which I quickly responded that I know perfectly well that my credit is good and told him I would find another deal somewhere else...before I could get out the door he stopped me and said he would see what he could do...he came back with 10% to which I replied was still waaay too much and began to leave again. I was promptly stopped and was asked if he could give it one more shot...after literally 4 hours of all of these shenanigans he finally came back with an ok interest rate (after 4 hours of wasted time) Then they only offered me $4000 for my trade in that I quoted on KBB to be worth $5700 in ""good"" condition and they said basically that I was incompetent and did not do the search right. I let it go because I really liked the car and it would be hard to find another that had all the features for that price... Then I proceeded to the finance dept. which was slow as sin where I waited for another 4 hours in their overcrowded waiting room and finally got called in to sign... During the process with the salesman I found a large gash in the front bumper and told him that it was a breaking deal and I did not want a car that was wrecked. He assured me that they would fix it to look like new and also fix a scratch that was on the side. During the finance meeting the finance guy wrote in the contract that they owed me a car with the bumper fixed....so I took it in later that week and came back to pick it up only to find that they had done nothing but paint around the gash! I asked the salesman about this and he said there was nothing they could do short of using superglue to glue it together!!! What the hell kind of body shop uses superglue to paste together a car? All this aside I told him that they owed me a fixed bumper. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me the same thing...I asked him what my options were and he said ""Well, we can glue it together, but it will break apart again as soon as you bump into something...or you can get a new bumper...that'll be about $600 to $700"" I was taken back by their blunt responses that basically the ""We owe"" paperwork meant nothing in my contract. I still have 20 days to do something about this as on this paperwork it says it is only valid for 30 days and I plan on perusing this vigorously but I don't plan on them doing anything about it with their past responses. I would definitely not recommend this place if it was the last dealership in Texas...go somewhere else and get the service car-buyers deserve. On another note - after I signed the paperwork and got into my ""new"" car it was dirtier than the car I traded in! They didn't even bother to clean it out! Stains on the carpets and dust and dirt everywhere...even what looked like mud on the leather seats in the back. All this my salesman assured me would be taken care of....never again. Don't waste your time, patience or money going here more

Overall good experience 4/11/2009

Let's face it, buying a car is usually the same type of experience as going to the dentist -- not fun. Our overall experience at Champion was a good one though. We shopped around a lot and got the best price, which Champion beat and gave us free oil changes to boot. Our salesperson was great -- very easygoing and none of the high-pressure stuff. We will definitely go back there the next time we need a car (which should be a LONG time since we bought a Toyota!) Pros: Easy to deal with, great price Cons: lack of parking more

Good experiance at Chapion Toyota 3/2/2009

Luis Galindo was my sales person. He was a pleasure to work with. It was end of month and I got a very good deal from Luis. Clifford Jacobus was the finance manager and he was very professional and didn't smother me with selling all the after sale stuff. Catherine is a member of the delivery team and did a very good job going over the books and warranties. I thought I new all the bells and whistles of the car I bought, but Catherine showed me a couple of things I was not aware of. They were very busy as it was the last day in February, so I expected to have a little wait, but it can sometimes pay to buy a new car at end of month. I was a little suprised at how well things went at Champion Toyota, as we all know, buying a new car can really ess you cee kay. Pros: Good price, good staff, free oil changes, were all nice people Cons: well, none, it all went OK more

Nothing but great service! 2/12/2009

Ok, I read the negative experiences that other customers had. But I never had anything *close* to that! From the day I bought my Scion in Jan 2007 I've had nothing but great experiences with this dealership. Great salesperson (Wade). And every time I've come for an oil change I have been treated professionally and never had to wait for more than an hour. This last time only 1/2 hour! And they have a waiting room with wi-fi. Pros: Great service. Waiting room with wi-fi. more

Champion's new motto- We've got your money....now go away 11/21/2008

I spent $1200 for service maintenance at Champion Toyota a few months ago and received very good service. The Service Rep offered me free oil changes as long as I own my Toyota even though I did not buy my Highlander at Champion Toyota. On my first attempt to go for an oil change, I arrived early and was told the wait would be at least 2 hours, so I left. Second attempt in Nov., I waited in the Service line for about 10 min and a gentleman asked what service I was requesting. I explained that this was my second trip to get an oil change and wanted to add tire rotation as well. I reminded him that the oil change was supposed to be complimentary b/c of the maintenance work I received previously. I told him who offered the free oil changes and he quickly told me this person was not authorized to make such promises and that the dealership had cracked down on such practices. This guy's attitude quickly changed when he realized that by servicing my car, Champion would not be making any revenue. He never apologized for not being able to honor what the previous rep had promised and told me if I still wanted to wait, it would be at least 2 hours. I asked him if there was ever a day when there wasn't a 2 hour wait and his answer was no, not really. So, I guess that's how they get out of doing oil changes/tire rotations, b/c who wants to wait that long for such a simple service? When I asked to speak with the Service Director, he informed me that he was busy and probably could not meet with me for at least an hour. So, I left, very disappointed, and tried to call from my cell later in the a.m. The Service Director was busy and he had no voicemail. I wanted to hold, but she said the wait would be an hour or more. Do you see a pattern here? Go away unless you're bringing in BIG $$$ to the dealership. I understand they are there to make money, but they won't make any more off of me with service like that. WAKE UP! Consumers have a choice! Pros: If you're spending a lot of $$ in the service dept, you're treated well-lots of attention Cons: don't honor their promises, you're just a number to them more

HORRIBLE customer service 9/7/2008

This place is horrible. For great service, go to Charles Maund Toyota and ask for Alfred. No, this is not written by someone from Charles Maund. I went to Champion Toyota to pick up a car that was promised to me. However, after I got there, the sales manager tells me that he can no longer honor a voucher that I had for the car, EVEN THOUGH I had been told they would honor it. I was incredibly angry as I had put a deposit on the car that was promised to me. The sales manager then tells me that it is a waste of his money to bring in the car even though they were at fault. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. I drove 200 miles to pick up this car, and this is the service I get? I had gone through all of the trouble to get a loan approved for that specific car. They were even going to charge me a ridiculous interest rate for a loan if I financed through them and I know that the dealerships want money from their customers, but it was still ridiculous. Just do yourself a favor and do not go to Champion Toyota when you are looking for a car, there are much better Toyota dealerships in Austin such as the one I recommended in the beginning. more

worst coustomer service 5/10/2007

I took my friend to champion toyota used cars. It was worst experience I ever had. He bought a Honda Odyssey from them. Ray salesperson told us there is broken cup holder which will be fixed, we asked him to do few more things along with fixing cup holder including back bumper touchup and changing tires. We made deal in writing about bumper touch and tires but we did not put cupholder as he told us it would be fixed. But when we got van cup holder was not fixed, and bumper touched up was very superficial and areas were left. On asking he said he meant other cup holder which is fixed, which I think was never broken. For superficial bumper job he said my painter may not be able to bend over. more

Stay Away 4/26/2007

I went here to buy a used car with cash. The salesperson, Jose, was great. After that everything went south. I was told to wait for the finance department to finalize my transaction. ""It will be very soon"" they said. Understand this is already after they had my money. I waited, and waited, and I can understand people being busy, but there is nothing busy about the way the finance department staff exhibited there lazy attitude by shuffling back and forth without helping anybody. Busy is working dilligently to help customers, not talking work politics and trying your best to not help anybody. I've seen the water cooler shuffle and these people are pros. If you need an exhibit in used car saleman standards this is your place. If you want prompt, polite service like a normal human being would expect your better off building your own car than going to Champion Toyota of Austin. By the way, when I wanted my money back all the sudden I could be helped immediately, I got my money and left. The problem solving over the next couple days went no better, and ultimately it became apparent that the people I worked with do not care about their customers happiness. Pros: The car was nice and the price was decent. Cons: The car wasn't washed because they were trying to hide scratches and hail dings. more

Rude, apathetic service dept. 8/16/2004

Champion is an exception to normally exemplary service at Toyota dealers. Service was incomplete, and my wife was treated like a second class citizen. When she picked up the car, instead of delivering it to her, the service tech just pointed to the lot and said, ""It's out there somewhere."" When we received a follow up courtesy call, we voiced our dissatisfaction but never heard from them again. So, we moved our business to Maund Toyota and are very pleased with their caring attitude and responsiveness. more
