Woulett Bakery 10/4/2006

Woullet Bakery is one of the finest bakeries in the Twin Cities. They have several locations for a reason...their stuff is good! I have tried their cakes and their donuts and pastries. Their raspberry cream cake is the best! This is an old home bakery with a twist of elegance. Woullet Bakery is also well known for their wedding cakes. I have yet to get married but may have to try one when the day comes!! more

Best Bakery 8/19/2005

The smells, the colors, and of course, the goodies! All are wonderful at Wuollets. For special occasions, the cakes and tortes are delicious. The cake decorators do custom decoration jobs if you order in advance, and they have always done a great job, even with difficult requests. Also a great choice for a quick cup of coffee and donut or roll in the morning. Baked items aren't greasy like they are at a grocery store bakery. If you like cardamom, the sticky rolls have a noticeable amount of it in them. more

    What began in the late 1920s as a neighborhood bread-baking concern grew to include cakes, pastries and a following. Yet Wuollet is still a family-run bakery, watched over by two brothers, their uncle and a cousin. In the hands of Wuollet's cake artists, traditional white-on-white spectacles can ascend seven tiers. For the unconventional, Wuollet does souffle cakes featuring genoise hidden under drifts of Bavarian cream. A "sweet table" is covered in profiteroles, cheesecake and trifle.
