The only thing I don't like about my Mercedes E350 is the dealer cost to service the vehicle. I stumbled on Autobahn Automotive Service while surfing the web and decided to get my car serviced here based on all the positive reviews. John's overall price to service this vehicle was substantially less than the dealer and he used all Mercedes parts. He even has evening hours if you are working late. This place is definitely a shining star among German repair shops. Looking forward to my next visit. more

I recently purchased a 2005 Audi Cabriolet 1.8T from a party in Naples,. Florida. The car has low mileage and was well taken car of. After doing some research I found AutoBahn on the net and checked it out and boy am I glad I did. I wanted to have my car checked out and serviced since I was brining the car into a northern climate. I met John at his shop one evening during the week, he inspected the car, laid out a plan to change the oil and fix a cooling leak on the backside of the engine. Within 3 days went completely over the car, fixed the leak and won me over as a client. more

Our Porsche completely died in a parking lot at the beginning of Labor Day weekend. In going through the internet, we could not find anyone open or who would answer the phone until I called Autobahn Automotive. John found we needed a new alternator and fixed it during the holiday weekend! What a guy...what a mechanic!! more

Had a major problem, an axle shaft, John personally came to my home at 7:30pm picked up my car, repaired it and had it back in my driveway late that night so I could drive to work the next morning. How many mechanics work like that! I had estimates that were 100's of dollars apart. John's price was very fair and reasonable. more

We had our vintage Mercedes services last week. We had several items to have repaired like our windows, rear sway bar,shifter bushings and oil change. They gave us a quote and worked our list and ended up doing it for less that they quoted. They picked my husband up and brought him to the shop to settle our bill on the weekend at a time convient to us. We will be back! more

I'm approaching my 60.000 mile check up. Normally I would of taken my vehicle to my dealer but I heard of John's auto service through a neighbor and thought I'd try him. He listened to my concerns as I'm approaching 60.000 miles and taking my family on a road trip this summer. He completed the necessary work , in a super reasonable time and assured me my trip would be safe. His rate was much more affordable and fair then the dealers projected rate. I now have more to spend on the trip! more

John from Autobahn came to my home in Geneva, picked up my car, drove it to the Emission Testing place in Naperville for the required testing, then returned my car to my front door and charge me nothing. He was gone a little over an hour while I watered flowers and hung out with my grandchildren. Seriously, it does not get better than that. I was having brake issues on my van last week and when I called John he was very accommodating. He actually picked up my van at my home and took it in for service. After driving that short distance he was able to diagnose the issue and after an inspection his suspicions were confirmed and he had new parts the next day and replaced my rotors and pads. After telling one of my co-workers the story and what I paid he thought it was a great deal and has asked for John's card so they can contact him for service for their vehicles. Right now (9:15 PM) John is working on another of my cars to diagnose a problem. I will recommend John every chance I get. more

Last week I ran into a problem with my Mercedes SL where the car had an issue with its performance and idle. I needed a mechanic for my Chevy Malibu Maxx. I noticed John took notes about our conversation and his inspections/repairs. This was the decision maker that John was not only professional, but attentive. His expertise proved when he found the cause of the noise my car had been making for two years, printed out instructions how to reset the oil life setting, advised me in the parts I could buy for the car repairs and fixed my dome light I had broken! John offered a car to my use while mine was being repaired as well as pick up service. He also surprised me with a follow up on the work he had done. My daughter came along for an oil change and loved watching, from the waiting room, the car rise and listen to the sounds in the garage. I've been to several "auto shops" over the years, but never a personally attentive mechanic like John. John is a Mercedes-Benz trained mechanic, specializing in servicing imports. He offered helpful advice on a few maintenance issues without the sales pitch you may find from a less classy mechanic.
