On recommendation from a friend of the manager (Tom), my husband decided to go to Auto Life to look at some guns. The prices were good so he ended up buying 2 guns. This was on 2/25/09. The guns were not in stock and my husband was informed that they had to be ordered. After several months of waiting, my husband and I began calling and even stopping by the store to see if the guns were in. Many calls were not returned and when in the store, he was simply told they were not in and they didn't know when they'd arrive. My husband called Smith & Wesson directly and the factory said the guns were only taking about a month or two to ship out and that he should've received his guns months ago. So in November (9 months later!) he went in to the store to demand his money back. The Auto Life guy said that one of the guns could be picked up soon (no one ever called to inform my husband it was in) but that the other gun was still not in. It is now 4/2/10 and still no other gun. Other local dealers (in Modesto & Turlock) have had these particular guns in stock and told my husband that they have had about a 1 to 2 month turnaround on getting them so there is no reason Auto Life shouldn't have them also. When my husband asked to get his money back and cancel the order, he was informed that he couldn't or he would owe a ""restocking fee"". How can you be charged a ""restocking fee"" for an item that, according to Auto Life, supposedly ""isn't in stock""? We will be filing a complaint with the FTC and the Better Business Bureau. This has gone on far too long. Repeated attempts to resolve the issue with the store have been unproductive. All my husband has been getting is a runaround from Auto Life. I'm sorry, but we simply cannot recommend this store. It may have great prices but what good is paying a good price on an item that 14 months later you STILL don't have.
Pros: Great instore selection of outdoor items, decent prices
Cons: DON'T ORDER GUNS from them!!!
