Every place can get get a bad review. I just want to throw it out there that I bought my 95 Saturn through Lamar Cook's and haven't had a problem since! I still drive it to this day! The sales person was great, the title clerk was WONDERFUL! Yeah, every place has not so charming points, but..if I need to buy another used car...Lamar Cooks is where I'm heading more

After reading all of these reviews it is hard for me to believe that we are talking about the same place. I bought my car almost three months ago and have had no trouble at all. I was impressed with the large selection to choose from, so if you saying you got a POS car maybe you should have shopped around some more as I saw several very nice, newer models cars on the lot. The car I bought is only 2 years old, with low miles and in perfect running condition. The price was good considering that the week before a car dealership down the road was trying to sell me a car that was 7 years older with junky interiror for the same price. The interest rate was a little high but I filed bankruptcy recently so I was expecting that, however the monthly payments are amazingly affordable. Everyone was really nice and the only real complaint I have was it was very difficult to try to get the details about the price of the car. They had me call and get insurence before I even knew how much the car cost and what payments would be. I went on a Saturday and the bank they financed me through was closed so I signed some paperwork and got to take the car home with me until I could get offically approved. That was a lifesaver because I really did need the car ASAP due to a schedule change at work and I really appreciated that. I was still a little concerned because at that point I still had no idea what the price info was but I was pleasently surprised when I did finally get all of the info. They get the plates for you too which is another thing that I like. It took a little while but they extended my temp tags until my plate came in. I have had no problem whatsoever with my car. It's the newest, nicest car I have ever bought, I think its gorgeous and I love driving it! Thanks Auto Choice! more

THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF BULL!!! THEY LET ME DRIVE OFF THE LOT WITH THE TRUCK THAT I WANTED.THEY WANTED A HUGE DOWN PAYMENT WE HAD AN AGREEMENT THAT I WOULD PUT THE DOWN PAYMENT WHEN I GET MY TAXES. I HAD THE TRUCK FOR THREE WEEKS WHEN THEY DESIDED THAT THEY NO LONGER WANTED TO WAIT FOR IT AND TOLD ME TO RETURN THEIR TRUCK. I INFORMED THEM THAT I DID MY TAXES ONLINE AND THE MANAGER SAID THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH AND I NEEDED TO GO TO A CERTIFIED TAX PROFESSIONAL. SO I GAVE THEM BACK THEIR TRUCK AND KEPT MY $6,000 DOWN PAYMENT!. more

Purchasing a car from the car auction which they brought to sell. After purchasing the car started to drive away and the car slamed hard in every gear change. This was something that they had to have known was a problem and once confronted they acted as if it was a surprise to them and had their mechanic take it for a ride. He new less them my poor daughter who I bought the car for when it came to car problems. He blew smoke up my you know what and gave me some bull that wasn't even close to being the problem. My recommendation is stay away. more

never will return to this place again! kelly was a good sales person and since she is no longer there the customer service sucks! i tried to trade my car with them for another car and they are too busy to even return a phone call!! i will be going else where more

couldn't have bought a nicer car at a better price than from Mr. Cooks, Tony and the guys are great! would highly recommend them to anyone! more

I purchased a truck from them in Dec of 2008, by feb of 09 i had sunk apprx 2500 dollars into this hunk of junk... The fluids in the truck were ass backward. There was oil in the tran fluid, and tran fluid in the oil. The coolant in the radiator was water! Stay away, far far away! Pros: Yeah Right Cons: Shade tree mechanic, Liars! more

i have a car from this place and let me tell you something.the car was a lemon matter of fact a lime the con man that work here should be fierd and they no who im talking about.my car has been in the shop more than i drive it im 3000 in the hole with this car. so if your looking for a car this is not the place.oh yeah the finance is easy but for the bull-sh#$t you go through later with your car its not worth it so stay away from this place.thanks guys for the bmw are should i say thanks for the lemon you sold me Pros: none at all they are con men Cons: dont trust nothing they say more

I have owned a car purchased from Lamar Cooks Auto Sales now for 2 months, in that two months the car has been broken down 5 times (currently for two weeks) and towed twice (once broken down in the burger king drive thru) They have told me they were going to bring it to the VW dealership to have them five it multiple times, but time again and again they let there backwood mechanic look at a vehicle he's not capable of...\r \r I recommend not even looking in there direction when driving down main street in summerville, RUN AWAY!!!
