I first went to Austin Stereo in 1995, to check out a pair of Dyna Mk-3 amps Mike had for sale. He actually talked me into getting a Harmon Kardon Citation-2 amp that was advertised in the paper, because he knew the amp, and it was a better deal for me. He gave up a sale to a walk-in customer to give the best advice, instead. He is not only competent, but has integrity, and really gives people the best help and advice he can. I have taken numerous repairs there and bought some equipment there, and have always been fully satisfied. more

Austin Stereo is the go to shop for authoritive repair on vintage audio and contemporary high fidelity gear. I have lived in other cities and Austin is lucky to have a specialist like Mr Manulik. His knowledge and experience are vast. I am an audio enthusiast and Mike has restored amps, turntables, and vintage receivers, both tube and solid state, and my stuff always comes back running right and sounding great. I always feel confident of Mike's work because he is as passionate about the golden age of home audio as I am. And he can do high end audio too. I have seen some very high dollar stuff come off of his workbench, so I know that he is trusted with the best. more

I've been taking my gear here for years. In a word, AWESOME! The owner, Mike, is a genuine audiophile with incredible ability to suss out the problems of the gear that I bring to him. I've been a stereo nut since the sixties so I have a good deal of equipment that I've accumulated over the years. Besides tweaking my Conrad Johnson gear, he has just rebuilt my Sansui G-8000. Wow! I cannot believe how good it sounds! This will be a family heirloom. Mike is a VERY knowledgeable person and a really great guy, I could not recommend him higher. If you have problems or issues with your stereo hifi equipment, particularly vintage gear, Go See Him! He'll tell you straight out what is wrong, what he can do, and what it will cost.
