If you looking for a quick place to take the family, I would recommend the Austin Nature and Science Center. They have a cute little museum and an outdoor trail where you can see some animals. The cages usually have a note on how they rescue the animal, what happened to them, and when they are going to release them back into the wild. You can see just about everything in a couple of hours. It is educational for older children. It’s a perfect place if you also have younger children who have a very short attention span since the place doesn’t take too long to go through. Entrance is free, but they do take donations to help out the animals.
