I went to my first hockey game last year and it was great. They often have nights where kids receive some kind of free gift, my kids love getting little surprises. The hockey game is full of action so you aren't likely to get bored. This was a great family outing. more

Hockey is really fun to watch live 8/30/2005

The Austin Ice Bats at the Expo Center is a really fun experience. The tickets are really affordable, and many times discounts are available. The location is large, and there are always great seats. The beer is flowing, and the adrenaline is too! The game is really exciting, and yes that is real blood on the ice on occasions. It is really loud, and can be really cold, but it is fun to see at least once. more

fun for the older kids 8/28/2005

The Austin Ice Bats and the Expo Center is a great experience, at least once. The atmosphere is charged, and the place is cold. The beer is ever flowing, and the prices are just right. The fights on the ice are really wild, and are definitely something I have never seen that up close and personal. They have a half time toss where they throw out t-shirts, and they also have volunteers that help out the crowd. I have volunteered thru work a couple of times and gotten free tickets that way. Parking is immense and cheap! more

Go Bats! 8/26/2005

The Austin Ice Bats are an awesome hockey team that never cease to amaze us with their skating skills and brutal fights. The tickets are inexpensive and seats are great through-out the rink. At Intermission they throw T-shirts and souveniers into the stands for the fans! As a family we enjoy rooting for the Bats! more

Great Time on A Weekend Night 7/31/2005

This is a great, relatively inexpensive night out with your friends. The beer is plentiful and not as expensive as you may think. The games are a lot of fun, whether the Ice Bats win or not. You don't have to be a hardcore fan to get into the games. And yes, the fights on the ice are the highlights of the evenings. Parking is cheap and plentiful. I've never had too much of a problem getting out the lot in a decent amount of time. I would highly recommend it to break the monotony of winter weekends out. more
