good selection of classes, campuses 4/9/2006

Austin Community College is a great place to take classes for credit if you're already enrolled someplace else and needing to take some extra classes for the summer, of if you're a student that works full time and needs a more flexible schedule than your school provides. I'll also say they offer some good electives if you're just wanting to take some classes because you're interested - their creative writing and photography departments both seem good. more

Austin Community College 8/19/2005

Austin Community College is a community college that is located in Austin. Acc has several campuses in and around Austin. It is a convenient reseource for students of UT Austin that they can use during the summers to get some credits without having to pay the full tuition at UT Austin. Overall, the rating is Good. more

Good school for the price 8/18/2005

I think ACC is a great place to go if you need to get some credits for college but don't want to pay the UT prices!! I went to the Northridge Campus for several years and was very pleased with the teachers and the staff on the campus. Everyone is very helpful - especially in the admissions offices. The only complaint about that particular campus is parking issues, but other than that, I recommend ACC to everyone. more

community college 8/18/2005

There is a much better college in town, but Austin Community college is another choice and have cheap tuition. The good thing is you can transfer some credits to university of Texas at Austin. So take some classes here and pay less tuition. And it has some other classes for people who wants to learn some fundamental knowledge, something like car's basic knowledge. more

More education for your dollars; not more dollars for your education. 8/18/2005

The instructors are the best asset of ACC. They are so friendly and personable, as opposed to the high-falutin' snobs at the school from which I obtained my degree. The class sizes are perfect with a great student / teacher ratio. It's also so much cheaper than your standard university and a fantastic way to get the basics out of the way. I would recommend the Northridge campus JUST for the ample parking. I would have to leave for the Rio Grande campus almost TWO hours in advance to fight for parking spots. more

It's not UT, but it's cheap 8/16/2005

I have taken 3 summer semesters at ACC in order to get some of my undergraduate classes complete in time for graduate school by the end of my 3rd year. ACC is cheap for people who live in Austin and even for people who don't. They do not offer alot of classes though and have a shortage of teachers and staff. Parking is hell at the Rio Grande location. The place is a great alternative to spending 3-4 times the amount at UT for the same credit. more
